maybe you missed the humor because you didnt read a few posts above mine where the guy said the burn indicators lol i liked that so i put it in mine. if you have been growing as long as you claim or w/e then you know cutting off fan leaves does not make a shits bit of difference that is credible as far as leaving them on or cutting them off. its probably in my head that my buds are bigger or that is because there is no fan leaves so its an optical illusion lol. but in the end with or without fan leaves you will get great yields and have healthy plants lol all this shit throwing gets old over old subjects

May be in your head, may have worked for you.. but you still should not tell ppl to cut fans off, Especially if its some1 relatively new to growing..

like i said i have literally cut off all leaves on my plants other than the new growth and a week later they are twice as bushy as before. i can show pictures with time stamps if you really wanna test the theory lol. it wont hurt anything so whats the harm

My two pence. fan leaves collect the light, buds do not. I have run an experiment in the past with two plants after harvesting the majority. The plant with fan leaves kept growing and maturing, the plant with just sugar leaves and bud, it died, quite quickly.
The fan leaves collect the light that the plant uses to grow the buds. People seems to have this idea that they are trying to grow buds not leaves during flowering, no, you are trying to maintain healthy foliage which in turn will produce the buds you are looking for. You can certainly cut off fan leaves here and there to aid light penetration to lower fan leaves if you wish, or remove fan leaves to aid air movement, but there is no positive reason to be trimming off fan leaves.

I dont doubt it, matter of fact I have 4 plants under my t5... I try to nute burn 1, Torture Test Prune the other, and Hardcore Supercrop the others.. I normally do this to all my strains to see what they can handle and how they respond. I have a few extras I can spare so ima go take a Razor to one now.

that is one room i have 2 others just like it as well as a 50k watt setup i am ordering everything for. Advanced nutrients is going to hook me up with a bunch of their gear hoods, digi ballast, wall fans etc. i'll have journals up soon. so to do the math for you that is 110k watts. that doesnt even include what i have built for other people around here lol but what do i know im just a swag growing punk hahahaha

i have a test room where i do the same type of stuff. i've done a test where i put 6 Bubba OG clones in a 2x2 tray with a 400w HPS in a closet at my dispensary. i didnt change nutes for a month or add water eventually they werent getting fed it was 120 degrees in there easy with no air circulation the plants lived. i put them in my veg room gave them some nutes they grew to be HUGE under a 1000w MH cut tons of clones eventually got so big close to 6ft. lol in that tiny tray it fell over. but the point is that they are weeds people worry so much about cutting this bending that. the plants are super strong especially most of the strains people grow on here that are strong seed stock not unstable clone only OG strains. plants can handle tons of abuse people need to stop worrying so fucking much

ya i love growing bubba lol my friend has great pre-98 bubba genetics 6 week finisher great yield 4oz plant easy under 1000s pulled like 6lb off 4kwatts 24 plants in ebb and flow hydro with supernatural nutes. his other strain is headband he made by accident. hermied Ogkush with sour D came out awesome. big yielder with all the OG smell and taste and potency. great strains.

That kinda makes the point for me. It grows back the leaves, whether it grows more of them is not the issue being debated, but it grows them back because it needs them. Now if your experience had shown that you cut them all off and they didn't grow back but you got a bigger harvest of bud, that would be a whole different point to consider. But it grows the leaves back, most likely for a good reason

Holy shit!! I feel responsible for creating this shit storm. I did say personally what I do. I in no way said " yes cut them, and cut them all". This exact topic has been discussed to death here and abroad, with as many different opinions as there are strains to choose from. I guess I will just refrain from posting my personal experiences and choices and become a "yes man" and either agree with the majority, or not post at all. To the OP, sorry it has become such an ordeal. I guess researching it, be it on this forum or others will be your best bet.

that is in veg where the plant is focusing on growing fan leaves and tops. in flower no they do not grow back lol because the plant focuses all energy and nutes to the budsites not fan leaves, which is another arguement whether cutting them off gives more food to bud sites etc. if you think of it like this. when you have horizontal lighting above your plants the tops get big buds and the lower shaded sites dont get full sized buds and are under developed usually. if you use side lighting or vertical lighting you dont get that because the lower buds get direct light unshaded by light, and mature with the tops at the same rate. that is proof enough to me that the greater amount of direct light the budsites receive the bigger and better they will develope

Alternatively it's because the lower fan leaves get light. The leaves give the plant it's energy.
At the end of the day, i think the plants know what they want to do better than we do, and it doesn't shed all of it's leaves in flowering for a reason.

but the theory is that all fan leaves share light with the whole plant then why if tops get light and not bottoms the bottoms lack development, but when lower buds get light they grow larger. i just dont see how there is major debate when if you cut them all off the plant still produces as much or more bud then with them. that to me proves that the fan leaves pose no real advantage, and having them out of the way makes life easier.
