Good your done..... People don't need to read incorrect information.
And honestly why would I call them, I don't need to listen to a sales rep dribbling shit........
What do you want a pic of the actual ballast connected to a meter? My words not good enough for ya?

Maybe this bloke is full of shit aswell?

lol you sound mad. But they told me its a 1000 ballast not 600 even when dimmed. Here in america a 1000 watt ballast uses 1000 watts and my ballest have chillers on them i can put my face on them if i wantd to. When there using 120v cord they get real hot but on the 220v cord they are not hot at all and i run all my ballast on super lumens. Im happy with what i grow and thats all that matters. And i dont give out false information. I just pass on the information that i was told. Right or wrong i really dont care what you think Mate !!!

Hey, homie. You may wanna do a little more research. All these ppl that are telling you a dimmed ballast only pulls what its dialed down to are misinforming you. Yes, if you ARE using a Quantum dimmable, you are only pulling what its dialed to..regardless of bulb. 1Quantum 1000 dialed to 50% is pulling 500. These other brands, ie Lumatek, Digital Greenhouse, etc, pull what the ballast is rated at, not what you have it dialed to. The people who said yes it draws what its dialed to are either using Quantums, misinformed themselves, or didnt see in your post that youre running a Lumatek. These other brands do not burn as bright when dimmed, but are still using their rated wattage. These were all considerations when buying my gear. ' found this' we can argue about this all day ! You grow yours ill grow mine !

BTW if you are measuring at the socket you're getting the output power. Ballasts are designed to take in electricity and modulate it, HID bulbs need more energy to start up than they do to maintain brightness and this is what the ballast is for. You'd have to open the ballast up and measure the input end to see what the draw is.

I have a speed fan controller from HTG Supply and it hasn't let me down but I have no other models to compare it to.

You guys need to chill and have a joint, I've learned tid bits off each and everyone of you, each quite resourceful for a new grower like me. Even if this is incorrect the whole ballast discussion it's not like this info will destroy your grow. Maybe wear n tear some gear and cash. If I got buds at the end then whatever.

Not to name names but there are other members who are more worthy of shark attention aska...:spew:
