fans on babies

ok so I'm having a debate with my boyfriend about the new installation of the fan. Babies are 10 days old but this big already 2014-01-03 10.00.42.jpg
Temp is getting up to 36C some times so I think fan is a good idea to strengthen and cool them. The fella does not think this, he thinks they are too ickle to be treated so.
Opinions guys?

The difference between and light breeze and a hurricane gusts are more what you have to think about...larger plants can handle more direct air movement but to a certain point where transpiration will occur too rapidly.
Move the air in the room around and get the plant some movement indirectly.

well it's only a light flutter in my eyes, he's thinking it's a hurricane though lol! it's the same as I see in video's, just the lowest setting at least 10inches away. It just looks harsher on a lil plant that those monsters in videos :)

Yes, please do turn the fans on but just don't point directly at the plants, just get the air moving around the plants

Holy crap 36C = 97F, way too hot!
Your BF has shit for brains, don't listen to the fool, time to take control of your grow

A fan pointed away from the plant in the growing space will be what you need.u just need it to move the air around your room at this stage you don't want to point it at the little girl!

Yeah it's not gonna get down to 23C, my light is too hot! but it is a resilient strain, an Afgan Kush, so I imagine it's used to high temps plus they are booming! so I'm not too worried about the temp getting to 32C now with the fan on, as long as they ain't burning, they're cool :) Mr Hyde, everyone is kinda agreeing with Mr shit for brains as he doesn't want the babies under the fan directly either. I shall go move it slightly to stop it fluttering them. :D

Yea that fan is going to be blowing around 97 degree air. Ouch. Have mercy on the little guy and try to bring your temps down.

For what it's worth I have done control experiments on my plants concerning fans. I found that as long as air is moving in the room it don't seem to make much of a difference if the plants are targeted by the airflow. Can't say I support the whole "strengthen the stems" bit either considering I had plants with and without fan develop at the same rate with the same thickness of stem.

Not to say that fans blowing on the plants is completely useless, but in my findings it's not a requirement for a positive outcome. Nature has the breeze to offer plants, but also prolong periods of completely still air. The more important factor overall is the temperature of the environment.

If her plants are getting that much heat I'd put the fan on the babies and low speed just my opinion they don't like concentrated heat on them all the time a nice breeze 24/7 would be nice

A fan pointed at her to make her 'dance' isn't a bad idea. It will strengthen the stem up which is good when it comes flowering time. 36 c seems hot. Idk what it is in f but you need to get them down

I turned my fans(two of them) 3 1/2 years ago. They have been running all this time. Never turn them off.

If you can set up a second fan to blow cool fresh air across your lights, that will help a lot. Definitely have air moving around your plants as well.

36C (97 deg F) is not a good temp to grow cannabis.
You will experience problem after problem if you don't find a way to drop that temp 15-20 deg F.
Almost every new grower thinks they can squeak by with excessive temps and each one learns that they can't (usually the hard way).
Ventilation and stable temps within the proper range are your friend, and excessive temps are a formidable foe.

@ dadio - I run 4 total, 6" intake, 6" outake, a big floor fan under the canopy and another above the canopy (cooling lights).

G/L OP.
