hi guys ,

fans question >>>> how important are they in your grow room? , will using them increase the size of your plants ( give better results stronger plants better bud ) i have done a couple of small grows blue cheese with not bad results for a beginner , i have a small fan in the room ,but to be honest i don't really put it on ,the temp & humidity seem always about right so i tend just to leave it off ,
i went to see a mates grow ,i couldn't believe it ,he had a large stand up fan rotating blasting the hell out of these plants they where gushing side to side the fan was on that strong ,he reckons you get better results ?is this true

cheers nick

You need the fans to keep the air moving around. And also to bring in fresh air, and to expel old stale air.

Don't point the fans at the plants, but rather over the tops of them, just enough so you see the plants swaying a little, and the leaves are moving.

Man, I have a similar situation too. I have tents in a basement where the room temperature is between 50 & 60 almost constantly, even in the summer. I let the lights heat the tents during the lit period and have a thermostat that turns an inline fan on once the tents reach 82 f sucking the hottest air from the top of the tent and forcing fresh cool air to come in through vents at the bottom. I have a heater that runs during the dark period on a thermostat set to come on if the temp goes below 65. The fan fully evacuates the used air from the tent each time it turns on so the grow space gets completely fresh air about every 10-15 minutes. You can even see the leaves rustling very slightly from wind created by fresh air entering the tent. My question is, will an oscillating fan help this setup? I get good bud & decent yields so I'm hesitant to rock the boat, just curious about the community opinion.

Used a small hand held fan on side vent to get fresh air in (stayed on when charged lol) n left the top vent open to let out hot air like a chiminey lol my grow went good but like you said my tent had perfect temp never to hot n I ended with over 40 gramm dry. Second grow I have about 1 oz without using the fan, but I also left light alot closer to help with lst but still normal temp just no fresh air sucked into tent. I would deffo recomend at leats using a fan to suck fresh air in

the set up i have is basic nothing fancy really simple ,i have a carbon filter with 4inch flex pipe to take the smell out when it reaches smelly time ,also i have a small fan ,like i say i have not been using .there is one thing i have noticed with my grow ,don't know if it has anything to do with not having a good air circulation or not ,but iv noticed a milky film all over the leafs when they get quite big in size ,its almost like dust to best describe it ,would this be a natural thing that occurs on the plant life as it gets older or could it be with the plant not getting enough oxygen in the grow room .

anyone experanced this with there plants .

I should have said to my second grow without fan had mold in the clay pebbles but didnt spread could be because no fan blowing mold spored all round the tent lol look out for milky fluff u might have mold, im far from a expert but milky colour normally first sign of mold build up

was thinking it may be something like that but wasn't sure ,I'm going to keep the fan on most of the time now keep a good supply of air rushing round the grow room ,logical really

Wipe anything u think might be mold with a little bit damp cloth so mold spores dont get airborn then you could end up with real problems like bud rot, lost a 4 gram bud to it before gutted

will do ,i will just keep the fan on low why they babys keep a nice slow breeze over em ,when they get some size i will turn her up a notch . keep that air flowin.

thanks

besides airflow, the fans help make the plants move & that causes them to grow thicker stems so they can hold up heavier buds. I didn't use fans my first grow & had to stake up the plants to keep them from falling over.

yes thats what i had to do with mine canes & Ty em up ,but now I'm goin to keep the small fan on low just to keep a nice breeze flowing ,before i turned the fan on low i was at a steady 81F. & 40% humidity , now the fan is on low its took it down a notch 76.6F & 38% humidity .
