The last few seasons of DS9 were the peak of Trek IMO. A lot of people that considered themselves trek fans never gave DS9 a chance because it was pretty horrible for the first few seasons
The same thing happened with enterprise... it's because Branon and Braga left the series and the new people that came on developed ds9-ish story arcs. I was really disappointed enterprise got shitcanned after the fourth season, because i HATED it at first and by the time it was cancelled i was in love with it.
some TNG is still good, but it's a little hit and miss. i do like the characters... voyager was always hit and miss. you can probably blame branon/braga for that too. They did a decent job on TNG after roddenberry got stale, but they ruined every other thing they touched after that. sad.
They even ruined the newer movies. People weren't tired of the characters in trek, they were tired of the lame ass stories. It kills me that they destroyed the entire timeline and canon.

I own every series plus the movies; it was givin to me as part of an estate a family member had before their passing a few years back. I like them all though TNG and TOS have more story and that's where the most enjoyment comes into play for me. I hate when you have to watch the entire storyline from the beginning to understand what's going on.
A friend and I watched the entire series of VOY while smoking a few ounces, it was hella fun but I hated all the false 'wormholes to Earth' that were a part of every episode.
It's supposed to be boldly go not blatantly stay on one story line.

I only liked last summer's star trek reboot. That movie was more star wars than star trek...which is why it's most likely the only star trek I like.
