I was approaching the 24h max limit of soaking and the seeds hadn't opened yet but they also hadn't sunk to the bottom (Book A I read said they'd fall to the bottom on their own, Book B said they might need a little push) and they hadn't opened yet so I put them in a rapid rooter plug and put them under the light in the bubbleponics as well anyway.

My RO filter hasn't arrived yet so I bought 6 gal of distilled water, adjusted pH to 5.9 and was on my way. Washed the hydroton thoroughly, soaked airstones and air curtains, etc. The biggest problem so far is the air pump noise. The one I got is a little loud but the res bubbles alright :)

Should I have waited for them to open before putting them in a plug? I put them 2cm deep.

I've had luck using rapid rooters without letting the seed pop first. I still usually let them pop in paper towel, but I didn't have any adverse effect when doing it either way.

So I got my weather station and realized the humidity in the tent was 35% :-(
So I plugged on my Sunbeam humidifier and it's at a steady 60% now :D

Temp holding steady at 80F.

Lights are 36" away as per the suggested guidelines.

All good?

I woke up this morning and found the humidifier's tank empty... so my humidifer doesn't even last a night and RH% was at 47 this morning. I guess as soon as I have plants humidity wont be a problem and Ill need ta dehumidifier ASAP.

However... all 3 of my seeds have tails :D

They sure are. No need to soak em in controlled pH water. Just plug and play.

This is is less than 48 hours after soaking and planting, so it's pretty good. I wasn't expecting a tail for another day.

Should I re-orient the seed so the cotyledon faces upward using sterilized tweezers? or just leave it alone and it'll fix itself?

Just leave it, it'll work itself out. Once the shell has split and that inner "skin" has detached itself from the cotyledons-then I would help tear it away, till then. kick it.

Nah, they'll work themselves out.. :D

One thing I find works well with Rapid Rooters is to make the hole bigger with a pen!

The fucking airpump is so loud it feels like the inside of the tent is a whore house.

I`m gonna have to build an enclosure for that pump or get an ultra quiet one because it's crazy.

That sucks, dude. I know there are some quiet ones out there, looks like you bought a beast of a pump!
