Fed's supposedly making no plan to intercede in Washington States marijuana policy.

Seattle City Attorney Pete Holmes, who arrived at the I-502 initiative party around 7:15 p.m., said he spoke with Western Washington’s U.S. Attorney Jenny Durkan earlier today and Durkan said the federal government “has no plans, except to talk.”
Proponents of the initiative have feared that the feds would immediately file an injunction if I-502 passes.
“We’re having really good conversations, but no promises,” Holmes said of his talks with the U.S. Attorney’s Office. “No doubt there is a conflict with federal law” if I-502 passes.

Holmes said if the initiative passes tonight, the legalization of marijuana doesn’t take place for another 30 days; at that point, it would be legal for adults 21 and older to possess an ounce of pot, although there will be no place to legally purchase the drug.
The initiative would also start the clock on a one-year timeline to begin writing rules on how the new initiative it will be implemented.
Holmes was greeted when he walked in the door by a woman who predicted victory tonight. Giving Holmes a hug, she said effusively, “This is the first break in the Berlin Wall! Do I think (it will pass)? Absolutely! And that means you’re so right!”
After she walked away, Holmes said, joking, “I didn’t pay her to say that.”

NOTE: I just dug this up, it is nearly a month old but still of interest. Tomorrow december 6th 2012 unless there is a 11th hour federal injuction cannabis possession up to 28.3 grams of smokeable matter will be legal for adults 21 and over.

Oh Gawd my blood pressure went up.. is that Midnight?

12:01 am? I'm going to have my bong ready here in California!

I hope it's good news! Obama can do us a favor in this case. I'm sure they know the Smoke-Vote played a major roll in getting him re-elected. As in the lesser of two evils.

Let's hope the evil is much lesser as a lame duck president.

I'm 24 years old. I've lived in WA my whole life. I do not have a medical card. And right now I'm smoking weed in my house...and it's 100% legal. And I think that's just fantastic. bongsmilie

how can it be 100 percent legal if the weed was obtained from an illegal source? There is no legal source of weed there yet is there?

It's still not legal on the federal level but i believe if everyone does'nt go around rubbing the feds noses in it they might leave it alone also if enough states legalize the feds won't have the resources to enforce

Yep..

Don't think that people will not be watched! So live within the bounds.

You know it may be that States and Feds can't afford to watch everyone so they can't stop it anyway.
We have had harsh jail terms and still weed is growing more every year.. So punishment doesn't work and they cannot watch everyone.
