Feeding: Maxibloom -or- Sensi Bloom A&B?

I thought measuring the Ph before feeding would be enough to avoid root burn and so on. I figured as long as I do 1tspn (or 7g) of Maxi per gallon (4L) I would be fine since I don’t intend on adding other nutes to my water.

I’ll read some threads on the topic to understand it more, but for now: how is ppm adjusted? Do you dilute more/less with water? Does measuring ppm still fall under KISS? Seems like it goes against KISS.

I have relatively hard water in cali - blessing for calmag but non the less chiming around 270( ish )
I use the TDS ( came with PUR pitcher - which i do not use for plants ) so i can adjust feed strength without guessing. 5 grams ( or so ) works for me.

I check every time i mix a feed - tap does swing at times so I don’t take numbers as static. EC i stay around 1.2 to at most 1.4 ( ish ) depending on what plant tolerates.

Soil i can mix and if im close to 6.5 range after mix than i judt use feed without ph adjusting since buffers will control ph. Sometimes i mix / check ph as is - maybe it might say 6.8 ( close enough not to worry about ) only an issue if you ride the ph too close to acceptable range and possible drift issue may show.

But GH maxi has been ridiculously easy to use - no mixing a or b or adding stupid candy licking bottles.

I only supplement Kelp ( foliar or drench / in hemp feed ) and Foliar Armor SI during Veg.

About as simple as it gets.

No muti bottle purchases or “ fluff “ additives.
Cartoon labels are for suckers.

Yes, I couldn't get to 7g without nutrient burn. My plants were comfortable in the 5 or 5.5 range.

To the OP, TDS meters are pretty cheap. Worth having one, and if you. find yourself in a situation where you need to check your runoff, it's worth having one on hand.

Thanks everyone for your input! Looks like Maxibloom is the most popular despite the (sometimes) extra Ph testing. Some great tips here and hope others find it useful.

I use maxibloom. Way easier for me.
My tap ph is 7.6
2tsp/gal brings me to 5.8. I ph up to 6.4 in veg.
6.6-6.8 in flower. As long as I don’t over do it with epsom, the plants do great.

For pro mix/perlite with synthetic fertilizers(salts) I’d add a bit of lime (1/4cup per cuft) and pick an all purpose fertilizer ie maxi veg/bloom, jacks 321, Peters 20-10-20. Keep it simple. Mix as directed Ph your solution to 6.5 dilute(with ph 6.5 water) to proper ec seedlings .5ish, veg around 1ish flower can be 1-3ish ec depending on a whole bunch of variables. I like organics, I prefer to let the soil and plant do the work

I've just added it back to my mix after having a deficiency that someone reliable here suggested is magnesium. I had stopped using it when I moved to Blumats and bumped up my Ca/Mg in my feed...and voila...new deficiency.

...Though I am using well water, not tap.

You can easily run a grow with just maxibloom.
Maxigrow is good also for long veg grows - never had ph problems. I run this on tap water / minor ph tweak ( ph down ) for both hempy buckets and my soil use.

I start at 1 teaspoon per gallon to check ppm range and adjust from there. No guessing ratios with multi bottle bullshit.

Is the dolomite lime added as insurance to make sure it doesn't get too acidic...or so the salts don't build up and affect the soil/substrate over time? After seeing you mention ec's I ordered a meter. You're the 5th - 6th person to include ec measurements.

I’m just going off where it takes my ph.. since I’m in that range.. you should be sitting at 5.8-5.9 if you mix a full dose of maxibloom. (2tsp per gal.)
