Hi guys, so ,I'm back on the horse with a c99 grow , currently at week 2 of flowering, using a brand new line of nutrients. Plant magic to be specific I'm using most of the range , including calmag+ , silicon, bloom and bloom boost.
I'm also trying out using a bigger pot this time holding approx. 20 litres of soil along with a respected canna friendly soil in biobizz allmix.
So this grow went a little off my planned route to start with, as I had planned on flowering VERY early, and had (or thought I had) switched the light cycle at around 9 days of growth. The plant had been growing very fast and it was approx. 6 inches tall at this point. HOWEVER after 2 weeks of "flowering" I noticed my timer had a segment pressed in at 1 am until 2 am! . At this point the plant was around 1.5 feet tall and quite branchy
Now as anyone who follows my grows knows, I grow in a closet, I do not have a lot of vertical room so this was a big problem, so what i did is switched my timer to 12/12 and supercropped. I snapped the main stalk without mercy, to leave it just hanging there. I was so brutal with it that I thought there was a chance It would just fall off, and at this point I would have been ok with that as i needed the height reduced. But lo and behold the next day it had started growing upwards again, but the effect seemed to slow the upward growth significantly ..
basically while the plant worked on fixing the breakage and forming a big knot in the stem, upward height was slowed while all other branches caught up ... excellent. After another 5 days or so i felt the top was getting to tall again , so boom.. another snap. Again 1 day later growing back towards light but more slowly .. all other branches catching up more.
So I'm at 2 weeks flowering now, buds are forming fast, plant is looking excellent. I'm not gonna supercrop anymore as stretch is slowing down to a stop but the main stem did make one last gasp attempt to be taller than the rest. But the plant is significantly shorter than it should have been and i'm thinking the other branches are considerably stronger and more prominent. Smell is non existent except for a pink bubblegum smell to the stems.
I'm very happy with the plants health , I have to say , look into supplementing with calmag and silicon. I see the benefits already.. these shots are of week 1 and today week 2. notice in the week 1 shot i had just performed the supercrop.
At the moment for week 2-3 shes getting 1ml calmag, 1ml silicon, 3 mls bloom per litre of water and is taking 3 litres of water every 3to 4 days. stay tuned
