feminized seed questions

hi all. I'm wanting to make some seeds so I've ordered a silver coin to make some colloidal silver and hermi a plant. I've never done this and have a few questions. can I spray a lower branch, with the silver colloidal, and get male parts on only the branch sprayed? If so, can I collect the pollen and use it at later dates, or will the pollen go bad after so long. if I collect pollen can rub it onto the lower buds (via ear swab) of an all female plant, and will that produce seeds on only the buds I rub it on, and if so will it reduce the potency of the entire plant, even the ones that weren't pollinated? how long does it take to start getting seeds in the buds and how many seeds will form with small/medium/large buds? thanks in advance for all your knowledge!

.. first question.. yes, you can spray as many or as few branches as you want to spray with the cs..
2nd.. yes, you can, but pollen will go bad after so long imo.. i'm not sure on a time line, but i'd think that if you kept it in a cool dry place it would last a bit longer.. not too sure on how a fridge would work on keeping pollen in all honesty..
3rd.. yes, you can pollinate as many or as few buds as you want.. each grain of pollen will produce one seed per pistil i do believe..
4th.. there is absolutely no corralation between seeded bud and potency, none at all..

5th.. seeds take a good 4 or 5 weeks to fully develop out...

you can get a good 10 / 20 seeds per nice sized bud easily.. you even get crappy mexican bud that has seeds in it?? well, you can get a shit ton of seeds per small bud ime.. :D

hope that helps some. happy hunting.. :D

i wouldnt hermi a plant on purpose...you'll get that hermi trait in the genetics if i remember right. pollen can be stored for a little while but it doesnt stay very viable for long.

Colloidal silver doesn't cause a latent hermi trait to come out. It blocks female hormones to the part of the plant you expose it to, causing balls with female pollen. That's why it's popular, you can get fem seeds without a hermie trait.

Pollen can be stored frozen for 10+ years if prepared and stored properly. You can store pollen in a fridge for a couple months.

the herm trait tends to be handed down in the successive generations of fem seeds

if your making fem seds using only one plant tho, you will want to treat the top of the plant as opposed to the bottom, makes the pollens job easier by falling onto the buds instead of having to float its way back up, thats also why males are taller than females

storing pollen, dehydrate the shit out of it, any moisture will kill the pollen spores, fresh is always best, if you freeze it and ice forms on your container you might as well throw it away.. unless you can be a magician and get it out without touching any moisture

What are you talking about when you say "hermie trait"?
I hear that term used a lot and no one can explain what they mean by that.

If you are saying that fem seeds are more likely to "herm" than regular seeds, you could not be more wrong.
Stop talking about that which you know nothing about.

herm trait :wall: handed down in the successive generations :wall:

Usually it does not matter where you collect your pollen from as the pollinating is done by hand or paintbrush. It is also quite easy for pollen from a lower branch to pollinate a branch higher up, s simple fan or errant breeze can fill the room from top to bottom .

Simply store pollen in a cool dark place, preferably in a sealed glass container with a few grains of rice and it will remain viable for years ;-)
