Fertilizer & pH levels

What's a good, simple, cheap fertilizer for flowering?

And how can you get dirt/water/fertilizer that already has an acceptible pH level?
I can't go for a tester and ^ & down right now

if you cant get properly balanced nute's and water, than i suggest waiting off a bit.
from the little that i do know, and tested, you NEED a proper pH meter and your water and overall pH definitely need to be within those optimum limits.
from what i've seen and read, the best level is to have your ladies in between the 6.0-6.5 pH. Otherwise your ladies will not uptake the nutrients it needs to survive.
I know distilled water from the store is very close to neutral, and just find yourself a good fertilizer like fox farms which is already within good limits.
if fox farms is not within limits, please excuse me, because i haven't looked into it much.

if your pH is off.... you're gonna have a really tough time my friend... and if you throw it off too much, your best bet is to flush it immediately with some distilled water and try again, otherwise you're gonna have a headache.

Do not use distilled water, it's bad for your plants. And if you're in soil, keep the pH around 7, it's between 5.6-6.0 for hydro.

I'm partial to DynaGro, it's cheap, concentrated, and contains trace elements and nutrients that your plant needs so you don't need supplemental macronutrients.

I also recommend dynagro for a low cost nute... get a gallon for $55 or so and it will last forever in a small grow. No BS here, first time I dealt with DynaGro I was told it was very concentrate so be careful, I use about 1/8 of a cap full of it in 2 gallons and my PPM went from 57 (fresh water) to 680. It is very concentrated and has many trace elements in it, great stuff!

And I found something called pH balance that is supposed to bring the pH to aprox. 7.00. Is this worth buying?

oh, why is distilled water bad for your plants?

Get a cheap ph test kit they're about $6 and ph nute and water to 6.5 to 6.8. Put about 1 1/2 tablespoons of lime ($4. for a 50lb bag of garden lime at home depot) in your soil at the begining of the grow and as long as the ph is close you'll be fine. Don't over concearn yourself with the ph thing in soil just make sure to add the lime. As far as nutes go if you are on a budget just look for organic nutes for flowers with a high phosphorus at your local home stores.

I grew in Scotts potting soil and a cheap bloom nutes that were about $5 for a big bag. Just go easy on them and it'll work fine. Anyone who says you can't grow without a ph meter and with home store nutes and soil has never tried. I did it for years and my plants grew themselves....

Just start growing and learning. You'll have plenty of time to overcomplicate your grow when you get a grasp of the basics of growing.

distilled water is just that distilled and kills off most everything in the water and unless stated what the PH is, can be all over the place.

Depending on your medium normally start nutes 1-2 weeks in age, stop nutes, is all dependent on opinions, some say stop nutes 2 week prior to harvest, others say you can nute all the way up to harvest. I personally feed nutes up to about 5 days before harvest, I dont feel starving a plant and making it eat itself can be good, and 5 days is normally plenty of water to flush out most of the nutes in the system.
