Few dramas with outdoor grow

Blame it on climate change Lol!!

My outdoor grow started flowering in 15.25 hours light per day. No one can explain it, and they have zero ruderalis in them. I called the males and left them be. Turned out great.
I’m in US and my harvest is over. You didn’t mention but you have to be Southern Hemisphere, Aussie or Kiwi I’m guessing. Welcome back to the game. Enjoy your harvest
Good to hear they turned out good for ya. You got an inside grow going now or do ya only run outdoor crops?
From the great land down under here in Aus.. As long as they sort em selves out by harvest an dont end up being 2 foot high an full of leafy bud ill be happy.. been told i might of got them out to early but so far its only one outta all of them to start flowerin.

It is legal recreational here. Each residence is allowed 6 plants, but without a medical card (which I have), you are only allowed to have 8oz of flower....so I guess you’d have to have them in different cycles AND have them fairly small. My last grow was one plant and 713g, more than 3 times the limit of flower for recreational. Medical Limit is 24 plants BUT, has to be justifiable for personal use only. I have no desire to test the laws, so I’ll stick to what I actually need for personal use, which is about a 3 lbs a year, or an oz a week
Yea no need to push the limits seem fairly reasonable as it is over there. Not only is it legal for both recreation an medicinal you get to kick back an enjoy the growing side of things aswell with out worrying bout getting locked up for it. 713g off one plant sounds good ill be more then happy if i can get anywhere near that of my plants..

I’m not real fond of people growing illegally or selling illegally in areas it is becoming legal, in fact I hate those people, even though I know there are some here. All they are doing is screwing things up for the rest of us, and setting the legalization movement back. I’m all for growing/selling/buying illegally if the government you are in doesn’t allow it
There is absolutely no excuse to not grow your own or buy it legally if it is legal. Can’t say it’s cheaper to just buy illegally because show me somebody I can buy top quality flower from at <$1000 / 713g.....please because then I don’t even have to grow anymore

photoperiod-cannabis plants are receiving more than 14-15 hours of light per day-period they will reveg or stay in veg
You’d think, but this summer I had plants getting 15+ per day in June and they had begun flowering. They continued through harvest. I showed pics and asked many experienced growers on growdiaries.com for their explanation. It boiled down to ‘shit happens’. No one can explain it. They’re not hermie or automatic. Excellent weed. Layered stone. Everyone loves it.

I grow outdoors mostly now because friends in the decorative flower business allow me to use the back of one of their greenhouses. It’s nearly labor free. Wild grown, biodynamic, no food or water other than what they search for that was fed to the decoratives.
They’re self propagating since 2017. The volunteers pop up on their own. I culled the early declared males this season, but some flowers obviously got pollinated because some buds have seeds. Not too many thankfully. I don’t mind seeds. A bit of a pain to clean but the high is fantastic. And seeds are expensive so why not?

I have a jar of exotic strain seeds sent to me by a friend in Amsterdam but I haven’t started the indoor tent up again just yet. Dr Grinspoon and Pinkman Goo are the ones I’m most excited about. And a Mexican pure sativa. Check out @Silky_smooth1 on instagram. She’s my maestra

Oh man I'd love to get my hands on some Dr. Grinspoon! I see it's available again, seeds of that strain were scarce for a while..

Man that sounds like a mad setup if only i could be runnomg something like that an not have to worry bout getting caught out.. not the biggest smoker these as what i used to be but ive been hooked on the growing side of it since way back wen i first had a crack at growing..

Ive never messed roundwith any breeding but if i got a male outta any of my unkown free seeds i got i would give pollinating shot with one of the better growing plants i got. Seen a fee peeple do it with a papper bad sort of set up.. as you said seeds are bloody expensive so why not try getting a few seeds outta it.. cpl seeds in a few buds has to better then a full hermie plant anyday..

What seedbanks can i get from those breeders here in aus..

I wish I could help you @JimyTheCook
They were bred by my friend and she sent them from Europe to US. Every time I’ve looked for grinspoon at seed banks it was OUT OF STOCK.
Check out pinkman goo! So much THC the trichomes combine and form resin droplets right on the bud! And the colors! I’ll DM you if I see Grinspoon in stock anywhere

Bit of a rookie question for anyone outhere..
After going tgrew a few threads and seeing the monster outdoor plants on here i thought id ask how many times you guys would top your plants an if yous top the side branches..
Im not expecting to get anything near as good as those monster plants ibe seen but anything i can do to push the girls in that direction be great..

Ive topped most of my plants between 5 n 6 nodes few others i have retopped after that and have been cropping side branches down an outwards, would yous top those side branches or just stick to cropping em out.

Started with 21 seeds all popped apart fom one then another died not long after breaking ground another got destroyed by the dog and can not remember how i lost the other one. Only dramas ive had since then was one started flowering already but after i topped it an fed it up on some high N think its sorting its self out now fingers crossed anyway and there was another one i snapped in half but still growing strong and im tryna clone the top half but dosn seem to workin out to good..
All in all not a bad run for a first time back after many years.

Hey Jim that Dr. Grinspoon strain has been back in stock at a few banks for a while now like Seedsman, Zamnesia, and Barney's Farm themselves, but I'm not sure if any of them send to Aussie you'll have to see for yourself. Anyway you only wanna grow her if you're really into your sativas because apparently she can take up to 16 weeks to finish flowering, and some plants have a very unique structure that hardly even looks like weed and probably doesn't yield well. I'm not trying to say don't grow it though, I'd love to see anyone grow it but nobody does. Might have to get some beans of it myself one of these days when I get my act together..
One breeder I can recommend is Humboldt Seed Organisation if you want some of that American style solid, frosty, really strong tasting buds. I've only grown 2 of their strains but shit they perform in my little personal set up and many others love them too. I believe Lucky Luke is running one of their strains in his garden now and has run it before, called Black D.O.G. you should check it out..

Cheers bloke been checking them banks out a fair bit haven had much to do with online seedbanks an all that only problem is choosing something outta so many different strains..
Been going threw the aussie thread and have seen luke in there abit seen some good looking plants in his setup.
Allot of good growers that know wat there talking about on this site definetly makes life growin allot easier..
Cant beat the look of a solid frosty bud aye. Reckin few of the aussie lads would give those american blokes a good run though on that american style bud:eyesmoke:

thats a pretty good way to train them, but HERE is the real secret of giant outdoor plants ....take clones from a mom, veg for a few weeks, then make them flower outdoors for several weeks; while the buds are still immature, maybe about 75%finished, take those plants and stick them under 24 hour HID in a tent. with some patience and LST by next summer you will have a massive revegged plant with up 12-20 potential colas to plant in the ground (or 100 gallon growbag) outdoors.

Sounds like alot of rooting round to me but end product is impressive

The technique is “monstercropping” and I would post an educational link, but not sure if the forum allows so definitely google it....i’ve grown SOG, hydro, mostly soil and outdoor though, and can say with certainty that this technique produces the most abundance of potent buds, at least for me. However I grow for medical, it definitely takes a lot of time and extra effort vs. 2 moms and a perpetual SOG grow.

Did the reveg on my first grow, only on my second so not doing much but some topping and a screen. Will for sure be going back to reveg after I get some more basics down
