Few light questions

Ok so I am finishing putting my grow room together the only thing I have left to decide on is my lighting system. I am running a 2x2x4 tent I was going to run CFLs but once I added up everything for the setup I wanted I could just spend a lil more for a better setup. I decided on a 400w hps/mh setup but found this 600w dimmable setup for pretty much the same price. The only downfall is I can't find any info on it. Does anyone know anything on these 2 setups?

How much extra heat would a 600 over a 400 make? I would guess the 600 is to big for a 2x2x4 but would be nice if I decide to move into a bigger tent down the road. I will have a Carbon filter hooked to exhaust fan at the top of the tent to pull out hot air. Here are the 2 setups I am talking about.

This is the 600w dimmable http://www.ebay.com/itm/600-watt-600w-Dimmable-HPS-MH-Grow-Light-System-Set-Kit-/121751100571?var=&hash=item1c58ee5c9b

Then this is the 400w setup http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apollo-Horticulture-400-Watt-MH-HPS-Grow-Light-System-Set-Kit-for-Plant-Growing-/191055700117?var=&hash=item2c7bcea095

I wouldn't suggest it with those dimensions. I know some people do these types of grows. But all I can say is I have 7 foot height and my biggest wish is more height! It has nothing to do with plants that grow tall. It's just so much easier to deal with heat when it has the space to rise. If it has no where to rise to it's just so much harder to deal with.

As for the difference in heat put off by a 4-6 hundred watts there is some but as long as you use a 6 inch fan you'd be FINE with a little more height. It doesn't become a problem until you start having multiple HIDs or confined spaces.

If you had a bedroom just to make my point. If you put either of those lights in that room it's easy to cool. That's because the heat is easily spread around the room. Which makes it easier to cool. Now put your tent in the middle of that same room and change nothing you'll overheat. That's because so much more air needs to pass between the lights and your plants to maintain a reasonable temp.

Spend the extra bucks and get a 600 ballast that has a 400 setting. You could just use 400 until you are ready to step up to 600. Or better yet get a galaxy grow amp or solis tek that dies 400 600 1000 super lumens.

i run a 400 and advise you stay with the 400 for that size space. the heat really is hard to get rid of and i too am glad i have at least 8 feet of height to deal with it. the small difference in price will equate to a huge difference in heat issues and will not be worth it

Bonjour
A 400 $ 200w cxb 3590 3500k 36V CD
No problem of heat, if you want a bigger space just add more later...and you have a better, more economical, more spread, light!!!
Or 4x100w hps....
Have a great day ★

I'd also suggest the sunsystem LEC for a 2x2 up to a 3x3. Nice units.

Or the philips metal halide and a cheaper air cooled reflector.
