Few minutes of light during dark??

Would a few minutes of a flashlight hurt the plants during dark period / light off ??
I only get home after the light shut off and I need to fill the humidifier so I use a flashlight.
They are 3 weeks in flower , and I only feed when lights on cycle not with the flashlight

I do expose mine to light like that, but only for a few seconds, without problem.

Why not run your lights when you are home? A lot safer that way if something happens, like a fire!! I have mine set on from 7 pm to 7 am...That gives me a few hours at night and early am if I want to work on them, feed, etc..

Regarding a green light...I just read about someone on this site that had a roomful of "problems" after accidentally leaving his green work light on, so IDK how safe they really are. I also think some strains are much more sensitive than others.

That's a good idea maybe I'll switch them from 7am on to 7pm to on I'm home more then , wife is home during the day I'm not worried about fire but she doesn't mess with the plants.
I don't use a green light usually just a few seconds with the light on my phone to fill the humidifier

Thanks I'll look into the green light, it's usually less than a minute that they are exposed but I'm sure it's not good

Your fine I have done it many times without any problems. Just get a green light bulb, I have two, Even though I have them I've had issues with other lights staying on for a few or when it's dark have opened door and they got light but it did not affect my ladies at all. Now prolonged light in the room may cause an issue. Ya ever been outside in the summer and moon is so bright it lights up the whole area your in ? Well there you go.

Now I have had an issue with light coming through the air conditioner during the long days of summer and they did affect them due to it being so long, a tiny bit of light coming into room.. I fixed it by making a cover over the top of ac unit.

Don't panic unless your in that room for more than a short period with small amount of light. The ladies don't like it but will tolerate some small amounts.

It is very unlikely it will cause a problem but it is possible. Why chance it? Can you not sort the lights out so you can feed and fill the humidifier? You could even just run a hose to the humidifier and fill it without opening the tent. As I say, it is very unlikely a small dose of light daily will cause issues but when growing plants for months, why take an even 1 in a million chance if you don't have too? Good luck.

Thanks my tent is in a room with no windows so I'm not too concerned about light leaking in

My lil garden is in a spare bedroom n I pop in randomly to grab things here n there during lights out n flip on the lights n have never had any troubles...but obviously it's not ideal...but I'm just growing a handful of plants for myself n ole lady it's not that serious really

Thanks , same here only a few plants didn't think a few minutes of light now and then would be too serious.

You don't want to be interrupting the dark cycle. You can fuck around with the lights on time all you want, but don't mess with the lights out time.

A while back a friend of mine was having some troubles with her outdoor plants on her porch, and asked my advice. I took a look at them and they looked all funky like they had started to flower, then revegded, the flowered again. I looked around at her grow area, and noticed a porch light near the plants. I asked her if she had the light on at night, and she said it was on a motion sensor, so it came on sometimes. I knew right way that was the issue. Now she takes the bulb out of that light when flowering, and has no issues.

It may not affect them noticeably, but for sure it’s another thing to blame for lighter than maximum yields or not quite tippy top quality weed or longer than expected harvest times.

I was always taught for photo sensitive plants, the plants photosynthesis cycle is instantaneous, so as soon as it senses light in a usable spectrum, it will begin turning that light and carbon dioxide into sugars. That's why it's really a NO-NO to mess with them during their lights out cycle!
