few ? on a coliseum build???

this is what i'm going to build its 3inch pvc octagon 5 ft across and 3 levels high,with 1 inch holes drilled for my rockwool clones to sit in.it will be at a slight angle so the fill is at the top the drain is at the bottom. inside the pvc will be a piece of tube from start to end it will have a bunch of holes poked into it so when the water pump kicks on it sprays the roots.

can the roots live in pvc with no medium?

is 15 on 30 off good for the water pump?

i'm thinking the bottom where the drain comes out needs to be higher then the water level in my reservoir,is there any other way to do it?

what should the pump gpm be?

can i put a plant 3 plants on a 2ft run? (i'm going to stagger them to let more light threw)

found a mini submersible pump with 190 gph rating and my tubing is going to be about 40ft long and as big around as a pencil with the end plugged in a million holes poked in it,is this a good flow rate?

should i put spreader mat in it?

youre going to need a way bigger pump even if youre tube is small. figure youre pumping 40 feet at how high? that pump might work well for the first 5 or 6 feet. usually the pumps have ratings on the side or the box check it out. good luck, design looks good just work out the bugs

i got a pump today it's 258gph i'm not pumping water up very much that thing lays on its side its about 5ft across and 4 ft tall so i figure 40ft of 1/2 inch tube with a bunch of holes in it so it sprays the roots .what size res do i need?
