That's a good point. 20k is amateur time. 40,000 watts, now THAT is growing weed! I agree that soil is super complicated, plus it's all buffered and shit and has all kinds of micro nutes in it. And you have to water it, like every 2-3 days. If you want something even easier, I would go with an aeroponic set up. They are virtually fool proof and nothing every goes wrong with them.
Save some cash for your electric bill though. I'm pushing around 5k of juice total, we have some of the lowest power rates in the country, and my bill is around $550/month. Pushing 40k of lights, and another 5 for AC, fans, pumps etc your looking at 45kvh per hour. So your bill would be around $4,500 a month. The good thing is that you can totally wire a 250 amp circuit breaker yourself. When you go to the store to buy the wire, look for the stuff that is the size of three garden hoses wound together.
