Few questions on flushing

Hello all, hope yous can help me out a little here. Im nearly at harvest time and just started flushing but have a few questions. Il 'try' keep it short.
This is my first grow and made a few mistakes along the way, but this one has come back to haunt me. I only found out the other week there that i should have been flushing my plants throughout the grow. i.e at end of veg, mid flowering, or even every 2 weeks etc.
So the plant is hawaiian snow, and is hitting week 12 of 13, and say 2 weeks of veg nutes so thats 14weeks of nutes and its not had a flush. I did water with only water a few times throughout the grow, but never actually ran a good bit of water through my pots. And at each feeding i did always wait til a decent bit of runoff came out though. {using plant magic plus nutes btw}
So does this mean i should give it more than your average flush ?

So ive started a big flush today. Doin it right now in fact.
But the problem is im watering 5 litres at a time and its not draining through the soil as i imagined it would. Im pouring it in and its filling up to the top of the pot almost and then taking like 10/15 mins to pass through the soil. Is this normal ? The pot is 15litres w bio bizz all mix.
Been at it for like an hour and ive only put 20 litres through so far.

I did imagine being able to take it into the bathtub and put the tap on low and hold it there and water would eventually start pouring out through the drainage holes at a decent rate. No ?

Also, should my water runoff eventually become clear, is that what im aiming to do, even in the first week of the 2 week flush? Or should the runoff gradually get clearer as the 2weeks pass?
Right now the runoff is still very orange.

And lastly, can i water a little more often that what you usully do. I mean, instead of waiting til the soil is adequately dry before next watering. Can i water/flush again if the soil is still a little more damp than usual ?
like every 2/3 days rather than the 4/5 days iv usually being going with?
Before i started the flush today the soil was still a little damp from the last watering , is that ok ?
If i have to wait like 5 days between waterings, thats only like 3 'chances' to flush the nutes out in the 14day period.

I just wanna make sure i flush this plant properly, my first harvest was a lemon skunk a few weeks back.. and it aint too bad, but i just dont think i flushed enough and i think it could be a lot better. Dried a little too fast and has been curing for just over 3 weeks now but still tastes/smells little 'green'. It aint harsh on the throat though, smokes pretty good in a J and is fine in my bong, but then i think that will be down to the perc and diffuser.

Think thats all.......... for now

Thanks.

You don't "need" to flush the whole grow. If you are having problems it can be a good start, or if you are going crazy with the nutes.

Run good clean PH'ed water through your soil until it is nice and clean, it's OK if the dirt was moist already this one time.

After that I would just give it regular water, no nutes, that is PH'ed for what you need. Maybe flush one or two more times like the first time and you have done all you can at this point in time, Good luck and let us know how it goes, JR

Thanks jrinlv. Much apprieciated mate.

When you say, Run good clean PH'ed water through your soil until it is nice and clean. What color should my run off be if any ? Should it be clear ?

I put 30 litres through it today and the run off was still orange at the end . Not as orange, but still orange.

Iv read of a few people saying they get a clear runoff after only one good flush?

Flushing is a fad and should be treated like silly bands. Why is this shit still around? A proper cure will do the same thing without any negative side effects.

Thanks mate. But for my situation, even though iv never 'flushed' at any point in my grow, u still wouldnt see a need for it. You think just plain water for 2 weeks and a decent cure will still give me great tasting bud as any?
And when it comes to my final water and i still have yellow/ornage run off, you think my bud will still be fine after a cure ?

Sorry mate, but i have to ask, who else here agrees that flushing is a 'fad' and is not neccessary?

Instead of asking around try using the search function. Flushing will not negatively impact your grow to a great enough extent as to cause you to have shitty bud. It most certainly will prohibit you from having your strain grow to it's most fullest potential.

I certainly do not feel "Flushing" is a fad. I've smoked cured bud that's been flushed and buds that were not. (Contrary to those who feel it's a waste; I can tell the difference in taste; not my cup of tea, thx.)
Typically, I see mass growers (Suppliers) don't bother as it can decrease the yield.

For me (And a good majority); the Bud's our own supply; Flush and Cure till your hearts content! :>

I dont flush unless i am showing signs of deficiencies (except right before harvest). That being said i also give nutes once a week and water 2 times (i have half coco half soil so it drains quickly). Also i would never consider simply running the plant under the bath tub. Besides the obvious effect of the un PHed water, the chlorine level in tap water is really high and if anything that would ofset the taste benefits of the flush. You should let tap water sit with an air stone for at least 24 hours before feeding with it to let chlorine evaporate and it is especially important during the flush (most use RO water). It is best to carbon filter your water before use also to remove the chlorimates (If you dont have a RO system). hope this helps.
