My plants do that. In the early morning they look happy, towards the middle of the day when it's hot the leaves start to cup a little, then by night time the leaves hang low like they're sad. Its completely normal. As far as pests, well that's mother nature for you. Learning how to fight against them is what makes you a real gardener.
Early in the season I use diatomaceous earth a lot as a deterrent. I also wash my plants with water with a few drops of dawn dish soap from time to time which helps to get ride of small bugs hiding under the leaves. When soap and water isn't working, I bring out the permethrin sprays which are fast acting and attack the nervous system of pests. I've been getting away from neem, but a lot of people have great success with it. I just can't stand the smell and don't like the idea that it's being absorb into the plant, but that's a debate for another day and as far as I'm aware, it's perfectly safe to use.
Besides permethrin sprays and neem oil, you can also use spinosad or carbaryls. It really depends on the insects your targeting, how long you want the insecticides to remain active and toxic, and how much toxicity your willing to deal with. Nicotine for example is organic but it's extremely toxic and absorbs into the plant. I'd use a common pesticide long before I'd use nicotine in my garden.
Here's a site that lightly covers some of the most common sprays and insects / fungi problems your likely to encounter.
