Filter, fan, and cool tubes

I got a question about a set up I have been thinking of trying. I want to run a carbon filter to an inline fan suction side then run the blower side to a dual bulb cool tube and out of the grow room. Will this work? If not what suggestions do you have for me. Basically I want to run air cooled 600w and 400w hps witha carbon filter for odor control. Here's a little shitty drawing of what I am thinking of. I have no experience with inline fans mayeb they do not have the suction power I am thinking they do.

I would like to think that would work! I dont see why not. you might want another fan at the other end of your light.. but im interested to see what other people think.. Im looking for ways I can work something similar..

I have the same type question. To ad why this is needed in my case is because if I pulled from the attic to the HPS in summer when the attic is hot as hell that wouldn't work,,,I think? subscribed...

Filter, Cooltube, then fan. I was told that it is better to have it after the cooltube. Not sure why, least I'm really stoned right now and can't think straight.

Ya,
I guess that is what "they" say.
But
A fan (or any electric/electronic device ) is less stressed with less heat, and more stressed with more heat.

My Hypothesis: If you want you fan to last ..... either put it before the cooltube, or 20 feet past the cooltube to give the duct air time/space to loose a few degrees.

i think these fans pull air better than they push air so you might run into some trouble with this setup

Come to think of it. That is exactly what I was told, pull better than push. I also run a 450 cfm inline, don't think heat, to the fan itself, is going to be much of a problem. I stays quite cool to the touch.

Sounds like 2 options. I can use a strong fan pulling air from the filter, thru the lights, and then pushing clean but hot air outside the grow area. Or I could use a Y split with one end gong to the filter and the other to the cool tubes letting the fan pull air from them both and just expelling it into my attic or outside. Ty all for the help and suggestions. :joint:

Although it CAN work...

The correct way to ventilate an op with air cooled lights is to keep the light on a dedicated fan...

Gypsy.. Your talking about using blower fans in your setup.. If that is the case.. what is better an inline? or a blower? and whats the difference? one sucks one blows?

Axial fans like this one... are very inneficient and will loose CFM very easily..



A centrifugal fan on the other hand, has enough umph! to push through the rough duct walls, bends and distance without loosing much cfm...

Here is the exact 6" centrifugal fan I use..
