R.O. units waste a good amount of water. I've started looking into home solar stills. You can get a pretty high recovery rate, at least while the sun is shining, and you don't have to mess around with changing filters. My Mr. Clean is just about already spent, not even producing 50 gallons (far less in my estimation, but I didn't keep a really accurate count). Just gotta build the thing, should be able to make something with maybe one of those black concrete mixing pans, a sheet of glass, and some plumbing and plastic. A receptacle should be easy enough to sort out. The whole thing is going to be facilitated by my new south-facing uncovered balcony Dave just built.
