Filtering out chlorophyll

I recently got myself an extract craft source turbo and have been making some oil.
But wanting to do a second wash on my material, the first wash I can keep clean and golden as long as I keep everything really cold, don't have access to dry ice so the freezer does the job.
But the second wash goes really green, its to be expected I think given the material is as bad as it gets, 2 year old trim that was dried and vac packed shortly after harvest.

I was reading just last week that using carbon or charcoal I could filter out the chlorophyll, but I cant find the page I was reading.

Anyone any tips on this or point me in the right direction?

Nice article.A lot of this stuff is hit or miss the first few times.Was for me anyways.Ive read about adding the carbon straight to your extract/solvent/wash but I was always hesitant about trying that.Add too much and you'll take the good stuff with it.
@coreywebster you're going to need a buchner funnel,and some other glassware for this.If you dont have a vacuum pump,a sink aspirator works great(this pulls your wash through the carbon/de/buchner funnel) otherwise it will be very time consuming for it to filter through.

I thought the beauty of that turbo was all that wasnt necessary?

I think this celite 503 would work as well as celite 545.. It's not lab grade, concidered a general grade, suitable for filtering..

Yeah that is a great article, it seems the sources vacuum used on its own wouldn't be enough to draw through the DE cake, I read a post the other day with you (I think) mentioning the sink aspirator , I will have to look into one of those and the glassware.
Its all fun stuff though so I will get around to buying everything else in time and fine tuning things.
Wasn't it you who posted those gummy bears the other day that looked amazing?

For now the source as it is works great, the green taint doesn't bother me too much for the most part as it wont hurt in the oil which im currently just giving to friends who have various pains. But its just nice to know that I can clean it up when I screw up a wash if I want to. My first washes are coming out golden coloured, or at least seem that way to my eye. Problem is this is old trim and very fine so a bit of agitation on the second wash seems bring out the green easy. I don't think you could get material worse than what im running.

Also since I only have a freezer and have been trying 3 min washes I think I can illuminate a lot of the leak by doing shorter washes to start with.

Still getting my head around all this stuff but sure I will get there in the end.

Alumnium oxide to filter out chylorphyl.

Activated charcoal for color remediation.

Find DRY ICE!

I can do a cryo soak (dry ice trim and etoh) for 40 mins and always get super liquid gold ethanol washes

For me,the filtering process is the hardest part.I'm no pro by any means,i just do it for fun.That being said,imo you're onto why you're getting a little green towards the end.Like agitating ice hash too much.The process I use strips everything from the plant,so filtering is a must.Ive posted up my gummies before,but I dont believe recently. If coreywebster goes the buchner route, he can utilize the vacuum port on his Source.
