Ok so i have been doing a lot of research on this topic and keep gettin mixed reviews so i was wondering what some of your opinions are.

i was wondering which method worked better for all you growers FIMing or Topping, let me know how it worked for you
FIM top pinch all attempt to do the same thing; limit height and cause branching.

You can learn how to get 9 tops by pinching top and then LSTing the pinched top with a twist tie here - I'll have the results updated later today.

FIM stands for F*ck I missed, so I wouldn't do that unless you check out this thread. FIM Tutorial (taking the guesswork out)

ive got better results fimming. my last go around i was still getting the fim down, i had 3 out of 9 fim propper, a few topped and some i screwed up completely and just cut up some fan leaves.. anyway of all the plants i had the 2 that gave the best yield were 2 of the 3 i fimmed. since then i have dabbled around with it till i got it right.

ur rite.. topping is fool proof... but when u dont fim corectly what happens?? u get 2 tops, same as if u topped... and if u do get it corect?? 4 tops!!! do the math... unless ur toppin for height issuses, its worth fukkin up
If you top properly you will get four main colas.

Also FIM stands for Fuck I Missed for a reason.

FiM is called that because at one point a stoner was attempting to top a plant and only succeeded in removing a good portion of the growing tip. Topping & Fim are both a technique, if you like one then use it - if not then don't. I've found that I like the quicker recovery of the growth to be advantagious to my gro - and I still get large peripheral buds, but then I do a shaggy scrog also so it fits my preferred method.
BTW, you're not a surgen in real life are you? Cause doing a proper fim ain't rocket science - do it a couple times & its easy.
Do you think the dude that invented the post-it note glue said that? Fuck no, he's saying get me another Corona Pepe.
Sometimes accidents become a fortuitous windfall.

So much for the clear response he was lookin for eh fellas?

Cleveland - theres so much debate on fim/top because there's no real clear winner. Both methods do different things for different people in different circumstances. Plus with all pruning, personal preference comes into play quite a bit. This thread could go up to 10 pages and you still won't get a clear answer because growers like both ways.

Best thing to do is try both, I know this is yer first grow so I'd say top away. Topping is easier, you're new at this, I'd do the easy one. The guide doe eyed posted is a great one. Good luck.

Griz- always helpful man i was leaning towards topping also, should i let it get 4 nodes high and then cut back down to the 2nd?

Fimming is a bit of a risk but can return some great results if you have the time. If your doing a set grow with specific timelines though then topping is where its at.
