Fimming Problem

First time grower here. Just a small grow don't expect too much, more doing it for fun + a chance to smoke something new. Plants are coming up to three weeks old (3 small plants of shaman feminized). I fimmed the plants maybe 4 days ago and it is growing back well with some new nodes but I think I may have cut too high as the original growth I cut has just continued to grow and now the leaves have cut off ends. Is this normal and if not is it a problem other than aesthetic? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

that do happen sum times, when you don't cut off more then 80% of the new grow, it will just continue after a few days of stunned grow, but your also out way to early, give it a few Nod`s more before you begin to top or FIM here, need some growth going to support the grow before you go and cut some off and put stress on her

give em a week or two more and give it a try agin

Thanks for the response, I will bear that in mind about when to do it. I did it at an early stage because I can only grow about 1.5 ft plants so was hoping to make them as bushy as possible. Out of interest are the plants looking alright? Not too small for time (18 days old from seed) or any glaring problems?

Hey ACLD,

The plants are looking good and healthy from the photos. Good job man! What kind of lighting are you working with?

I will have to agree with Slipon that topping/fimming should be done with at least 3 nodes. I usually top at the 4th/5th node but I also have a 6 foot ceiling for the girls. About the fimming question. I am currently growing Auto Amnesia, Jock Horror, and Auto Somango. This is only my 2nd grow but I decided to try Fimming for the first time with the Somango. Here is a pic of it. She is on day 29 from seed with this pic. The 3rd picture shows the same disfigured leaves on the main cola.

I believed I failed as well lol but I am just going to let her grow it out into a Christmas tree. The other two are topped and doing great though.

Good Luck

Thanks hopefully they will get as bushy as yours. It's a pretty basic setup, I have two 105w equivalent 1500 lumen 6500k cfls. Two of the plants have barely stretched so the leaves are virtually caught up in each other but I'm hoping that will correct itself. I don't think I plan on fimming again as I need to switch to flowering in a few days due to height (sativa dominant so don't want it too tall) and time restrictions. Was your first grow also autos? What yield did you end up with?
