fimming/topping my SLH issue

I have fimmed or topped about a dozen plants in my short growing career, and everytime I have seen a nearly predictable growth increase in the axial branches.
Except with my super lemon haze
This group of clones just seems to keep growing upward without much change in "bushiness", as if I didn't FIM or top it at all!
Is there something I can do to make the axial branches or colas I created by fimming grow faster?

I've had strains that want to stick to a single upward growth pattern, but eventually I bushed them out completely with LST and topping..

Here's a top down shot of one of the SLH, and one of a sativa dom. that I fimmed at the same time.

Two suggestions have been made by some local growers; start adding bushmaster or top them 2 times vs one fimming. I think I am just going to go psycho gardener on them since they seem to stretch so much in flower anyway.

u use bushmaster only once, during the transition week, very little too. its very powerful and can fuck your plant up if used wrong.

I have the same problem with the super lemon haze. Started off with seeds. However, my tent I have two lights. 1k watt and 600watt. Every time the plants got closer to the 600watt light I raised the lights. They're about 1 foot away from the top of the plant.

The 2 plants both topped under the 600watt stretched like no other. I ended up topping them again because it got so tall. Now the plants look funny because I chopped off the main colas again halfway through flowering.

But the 2 plants (One topped and other not) under the 1k watt, those plants stayed short and are stocky.

I have a new batch I just added in that tent with the ones with the stretch problem. This time I put them under the 1k light and they're pretty close to the light. I would say about 6". They don't have any light burn. It's been 1 1/2 weeks for flower and they aren't looking stretchy at all.

So far, my issue seemed to be the lights. Since I have the lights closer and I'm adjusting less. It seems to keep the plants from stretching. I will have to wait till week 3 of flowering to now for sure. Never had this problem with my OG Kush.

The second picture is not an SLH, it is typical of what I have seen plants do when Fimmed. Thanks you for the warning on bushmaster!

Here are some detailed pictures of the four clones that I fimmed about 10 days ago. Some of the fan leaves have dropped off or been removed by me, but even still it is hard to tell exactly where I did it at.



I have two plants at the same place in growth that I fimmed at the same time. Multiple branches showing good growth that you'd typically see.
