I'd put it into a 5 Gallon Pot bro, if you want her roots to spread because small pots will just stop it's potential growth

the roots don't really grow during flowering..but they will grow for a couple weeks until the plant has fully recognized the 12/12 cycle and is in full bloom..and in a small pot the large plant/root system will suck water up very quickly...5 gallons should be plenty, good luck

I just repotted two plants after 3 weeks of veg. They are now in 12 inch, 2 gallon pots. I am limited to about 3 feet of height and was wondering if these could be the final pots? When i transplanted them the roots where coming out everywhere in all directions...they were in about 5 inches of soil before.

If the roots run out of room to grow lengthwise wont they just thicken?

IME, a 2gal pot will support +4oz plant (dry/cured). You'll have to water more frequently, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

really? well i think i will leave them as is. I was going to veg until the were about 15 inches tall and then start 12/12. I only had a small amount of stones to put at the bottom of the pots for drainage, will this cause problems in flowering?

Flowering at 15", that plant may get pretty tall for your room and perhaps your light.

No.

okay, i do have the ability to make the space a little bit higher, its in a closet with adjustable white racks so i could make it about 4 ft tall. would that work?

Sorry to jack the thread with a ? of my own but, any idea if a drainage layer of perlite or stones at the bottoms are necessary with Smart Pots? Anyone ever use them?

Should be fine and even if not, you can always do some bondage to get it to fit ;)

Rule of thumb is plants will double to triple in size by the time they finish.

If you can post a pic of your plant, what strain it is, from seed or clone, as much info as you can about your light and the environment, I could take an educated guess. Otherwise, impossible to say.

I'd suggest training the plants to stay low and flowering with more light. Good luck.

A buddy of mine grows huge buds in a 1.5 gallon pot, he uses foxfarms and follows the schedule. I am a 5 gallon man myself. I do organic soil mixes and little or no nutes. He gets allot more buds per plant still, but mine is allot better smoke.

If you could find those short-wide 3 gallon? buckets I think it would be best for your situation.

I am happy you got your answer. But, jacking a post is a no no. Next time please start your own thread so the OP can get their question answered.
