Some of you probably seen me posting before with my crappy T3 Halogen Bulb and no grow room.
I now have a light setup and a Room with mylar and a fan.
Theres 8 bulbs 4 23w and 4 27w 4 are veg and 4 are flowering bulbs, gonna have them all on 18-6 just need ot buy a timer my manual one isn't working right..

heres a look at some pics the babies are 1week2days

only issue is, my mate thinks its a huge fire hazard and is freaking out and cant sleep, by the looks of the pics is there really anyway here that anything can catch fire?

also any comments and suggestions are very welcome
This is also my first grow.

also i thought cfl's aren't supposed to get that hot? they are definitely burning my hand when they touch the bulbs, lol.
Maybe that fan isn't enough? not sure i didn't want to move close to plants because they were making them fall completely over that blue cup they are in and drooping all the way down.

Suggestions:

Move the CFLS within 2 inches of the plants, all right above them highly concentrated.

Also CFL will get to about 80 degrees to 85 degrees on the light.

And get a Temp/humidity sensor from wally world for $10.00

Cheers and good work on the room!

Im a neat freak so the only thing i would change is the fact that you have no fixture. In the name of efficiency you should rig something to hold the bulbs in place so they arent just hanging free. If you get a power strip and plug three bulbs into it that can act as a fixture of some sort.

ok i dropped the lights a little lower, and im looking into buying a power strip so i can plug some bulbs into that instead, its just i didn't do that because its heavier to hang and its not really hanging over something to sturdy.
and as for

Those babies look very thin and stretched, either move your lights closer or invest in a better CFL. something like this for vegging -
125W ENVIROLITE Grow Lamp / Light - 6400K Veg - New on eBay, also Hydroponics, Plants Seeds Bulbs, Garden Plants, Home Garden (end time 19-Jun-08 23:25:00 BST)

and then you'll need the red spectrum version for flowering.

I wouldn't worry too much about fire hazard as long as your wiring is all good.

good luck
they are like that because they were under a T3 Halogen bulb which isn't meant for growing.. so this is their first day under these cfl's and in this room, they were in an open room just under a flood light before this.

so the lights are now closer but it seems like 1 of the tall ones just keeps drooping all the way to the side.. so i packed soil up a little to hold it a little more sturdy, but its really bad i hope the stem isnt broken under the soil's surface.

I would repot them and put them deeper in the new pot, the stem will convert itself to grow roots. Also, I would advise putting a fan in your grow room, not directly on them but enough to create a gentle breeze, this will help strengthen the stem.
