Finding plants

I was out for a hike the other day and I came across someones crop.

They've aleady shown sex (all girls) and I was wondering if it's possibe to take a clone from these outdoor ladies without hurting them

That is theft, but yes, you can safely take a clone without harming the rest of the plant.

Cloning plants that are already in flowering causes the growing clones to branch out immensely, giving you a bushy plant as opposed to a tree like structure.

A clone from a lower branch wouldnt hurt the plant like stress it out or anything, but you'll leave that physical mark on them. I've got mixed feelings on this to be honest. Im happy you are not like some of the people who come on her and talk about stealing someones whole plant, either in vegging to grow yourself(seriously, we had a guy come on here saying proudly he stole his neighbors plants and actually expected us to help him.) or near harvest for the buds.(see lots of them around harvest time last year.) and it wouldnt really hurt the plant if you took a few clones but that might freak the guy out and he'll have to dig them up and transplant them somewhere else and it would just generally be a pain in the ass for him. He has no way to know your not gonna come back later in the year and snatch the whole thing.

It is taking without permission or right to, but I'm glad you're not wanting to snatch them. It is also sharing a plant's life, produce, and uniqueness, and those aren't terrible things. If you must do it, and you have a good feeling he'll notice, it would be polite (maybe) to leave a note to tied the branch and explain your position and how you're only taking a cutting or clone. Might freak him out more though.

Also, lots of people have camo deer cameras too. He may know all kinds of shit about you, especially what you look like. You cannot be sure you haven't been seen.

I personally try to carry a karmic attitude with weed, more so than in other things. I wouldn't do it.

Maybe i'll leave a note explaining that I stumbled across his crop, I'm happy he's taken an interest in the plants, that I would like his permission to take a single clone and that they are safe and will remain in the undisclosed location. Fuck, I'd even leave him my buisness card If I could be sure that no one else goes there.

Right now the plants look like they just starting to show sex and are single stem plants, I've read a fair bit on cloning from fan leaves vs cloning from stem tops and although the fan leaf cloning it possible I wonder how effective it is.

You can root fan leaves, but they will never be anything more than rooted fan leaves. That note would make him freak out more than any of the other stuff, lol, I'd be paranoid as fuck if i went to check on my plants one day and found a note on my plant, very.

Well that's no good either then. I wonder if I could wait for him to do his daily round and surprise him(and hope I don't get shot) and ask him in person

Lol just take a couple of clones and dont go back there, if you start leaving this guy notes and waiting for him in person hell freak more than if he finds a couple of cut branches.

Just DON'T DO IT. You are better off just buying some seeds, or grabbing a clone off someone who you know that grows.
I'd imagine anything stupid anyone ever does always seems to come back and bite them in the ass.

Too late dyzel, I've made up my mind.

This is my plan;

-Make a small buisness card for myself with my Rollitup username and the site address(and the words 'profile at')

on the flip side it'll let him know how many clones I took (i'll write the number in), congratulate him on his grow and let him know I'm not comming back without an invitation.

-Go take some clones, place the card where it will be noticed and wait for him to contact me

-After contact I'll offer a clone of my Blue Mystic (regular seeds just ordered) if I get a girl or pollen if I get all boys(assuming he wants seed stock)

-He'll not be too freaked and will understand what happened to his plants
-Know his genetics and be able to share.
-Maybe open up a growers dialog thats ongoing

That plan is pretty fucking crazy, lol, but if you've really made up your mind.....I think its a really bad idea but I hope it works for you if you do go through with it.

your crazy lol, if it was my crop id have a camera on them and once iv seen youv been ther the first time il know ul be back and il be waiting.You should have taken a single clone the first time and never try and return

umm, yeahhh... sounds pretty crazy though, most dealers i know own guns! you're gonna be like, "lalalala...i am so smart...lalala" then BAM! Colt 45 takes out a chunk of you skull, brains and blood everywhere! you become fertalizer for that guys plants. is it really worth it?

If i were an outdoor grower and i found a business card, a note, i'd probably not visit the patch again. I say jsut leave the thing alone, how hard can it be for you to just buy a sed from a headshop instead?

Further more, if i found someone had taken cuttings, it would piss me right off, and if i was relying on this money to pay someone off, support a family etc, i would most likely be bad ass enough to goto the adress you give and fuck your shit up, he doesn't need that kind of possible risk to his income.

Guess I should clarify things a bit,

-I'm in Canada
-This is an outdoor grow hidden in a public area

The risk personally is negligable, the damage to the plants will be in the negative ammount (topped plants = smiley face) and it's a chance to raise a new strain, possibly learn genetic history of that strain and even better, share a strain of my own.

Ask the grower if he'd like you to top his plants prior to doing it. He get's to decide that, not you, stop being so selfish.

Too bad you don't already have some mothers/clones yourself, you could trade. I bet a gorilla grower has never come back to his crop to find that someone brought him more!

lol..... The thought crossed my mind of waiting a few days from now and starting a thread on here about returning to my grow and freaking out because my plants had been butchered along with a note bearing a RIU username and shit on it....

But..... Nah.
