Finish veg under 600w or stick with the T5s until flower?

Hi, I have heard that T5s are great for vegging, but, also that you should not use them for the entire veg process. That you should finish the veg under a bigger light like a 600w HID. I'm not able to find much on the subject. What I have found says that T5s are great to veg under, produce tighter nodes and much less heat. I also read that the larger bulbs are not so good because they cause the plants to stretch, add heat, and cost more to run. I planned to do a perpetual grow and use the T5s in a veg closet and then move them into flower, so when i heard this about finishing them off, it threw off everything. What do you guys think? Appreciate any advice you can give.

also how the t5s perform depends on the spectrum of the bulbs. you are going to want to be leaning into the blue side of the spectrum for vegging and tighter nodes

I've seen great grows that were only vegged with t5s or even cfls, then flowered under hps. You will get faster, bigger veg under an MH, though.
