fire hazard question

i got everything i need for my first grow should i take the carpet out of my closet before i start

i would but just to save it getting damaged, you want to line the floor with some type of thick plastic sheeting and take it up the walls so as to create a tray just in case, i don't know how your growing them but if in pots and soil your gonna make a little mess at some point, best of luck mate
