I'll post some pictures. I bought that aeroponics unit after seeing his post. I was looking forward to his posts also. Anyhow,
I just got it a week ago, and the pictures I am showing are really day 3, but lets just call them day 1 since today is the first day I am not going to be changing things. The reason I say that is because I keep switching things around - such as moving out one plant and switching it for another. These ARE NOT MARIJUANA. These pictures are of tomatoes, and the middle one is a lettuce. I just wanted to see how well aeroponics works so I am documenting it. I am also NOT using proper nutrients (at this time). I am using plant food made to sprinkle on soil. I am just experimenting. But after 3 days, I am actually growing fond of my plants so if they start dying I will use real hydroponic plant food but so far so good. I have another camera set up that I can't move so I can't show you the beginning pictures but they started off smaller and they are already starting to grow new leaves from the first day. I have ABSOLUTELY NO EXPERIENCE in growing using aeroponics, and I kill most plants I try to grow in soil. I will post new pics every single day until they die, or they are big. If they begin to die, I will get proper nutrients and I will say so. These are pictures taken with my phone, so hopefully they look decent.

Crap nutrients.jpg

Day 3 - plants look like crap. Changed the water, it smelled real bad. I need to get real nutrients. Will do so tomorrow.

I don't know if anyone is really interested in seeing these pictures since it isn't marijuana growing, so instead of adding a new comment with the pictures in it which would bring it to the top of the forum I will just edit this post daily. If you guys are interested though you can let me know and I can do it the other way.

white spots.jpg

Here is a picture of my tomato with white spots on the leaves. Don't know what it means. Probably my crap nutrients, or too much light, or to high PH, etc. I don't care to much at this point. Three days ago, it barely had leaves and it had no roots. I cloned it in this unit 3 days ago and now roots are starting to grow and it has more leaves and it is larger so I must be doing something right, right?

The white dust is probably Powdery Mildew, you can rub some of it off right.. Those are mildew spores, search for Powdery Mildew will have you mixing up some Baking Soda water to combat your PM on your little tomatoes, when more is at stake we will talk Fungalore or Eagle 20 EW

The really bad smell is probably the end of it for this experiment, that smell is considered the funk. The funk is formed in our reservoir when are water temps are over 70F, the best way to keep the right water temp is to run the correct room temp. 68F-72F lights on, 62F lights out.

In the end, it is a tomato plant and I don't give a wily fuck what happens to it. If I am right pull them out, bleach the every loving crap out of everything, run plenty of water through it afterward to rinse it. Keep temps down this time and let's go for round 2 YOU vs Tomato plant.. :)

Yeah, I think that experiment (trying to grow with soil pellets) is done. They are pretty much dead. Not quite dead, but really close. I went ahead and bought the complete technaflora recipe for success kit nutes and just added them now. Changed out the stinky water and cleaned it really good first. Not sure if the stink was from just my failure, to hot reservoir, or from the regular soil pellets I was putting in the water. I think it might be because it is made from feather meal, bone, meat meal, blood meal, etc. But I am pretty sure my water temps are higher than what you recommended to. I don't run the lights in the day time, and I keep my AC on all day but it still gets hot upstairs.

Like I said I don't know what I am doing, don't really care too much. I just enjoy experimenting. Now I am going to see if I can bring them back from the brink of death using this box, my light set up, and the nutrients I just bought.

Thanks for the tips. I like learning hands on.
