First BHO with Heated Vacuum

This was my first harvest. It is an outdoor blue dream and I decided to make some bho and to purge it using a heated vacuum. The vacuum is a converted pressure cooker placed on a skillet.

Here is the harvest. I got 2.5 oz dried and used 1 oz for the bho which yielded 3g of shatter.

I did have a problem though. After about 2 weeks of really pretty wax it began to dry out and turn into crumble. I tried to re vacuum and heat it and it didnt do much. The vacuum was at about 140 degrees but I didnt have anything to accurately test the temperature.

Any help on how to make it stable would be awesome.

De-waxing is the only thing that can keep it from turning all crumbly so your choice is to winterize by dissolving your BHO in alcohol or just leaving it & enjoying it as is. If it's for your head I say just leave it. Removing the wax is akin to cutting all the fat off of your steak- wax & fatty lipids adds flavor but little else.
In my exp if you want a more shatter like product you need to do a few more steps:
1. Allow the material to dry out completely
2. Break down the material without shredding it too much- cutting to shreds allows the fatty waxes & lipids to be extracted along with the good stuff
3. Run all nuggets & save trims for dry sift and/or cannabutter
4. Freeze the extraction tube, material, and gas to below zero temps just before blasting - keep the material frozen for 48 hrs or longer for best results

I usually pack trims & popcorn nugs that I want to extract in a tube & freeze it for a day or 2 before blasting. I use scissors to break down to small 1/4" chunks & pack my tube loosely. It usually will come out waxy unless I separate the trims from the nugs & run them separately but I rather enjoy the taste of waxy BHO.
If you plan to winterize you can use everclear or any pure grain alcohol to dissolve your BHO & then put it in front of a fan using no heat. I prefer to use a Pyrex dish because it has rounded corners to scrape easy. It takes about 5 hrs to dissipate & then just scrape up the winterized BHO which will now be free of fatty waxes but this will reduce your yield by 30% more or less. But you'll have a more potent product if that is your goal. Personally I'd just dab that shit as is & enjoy!!!

I did run my bud through a small blender to get it really fine. I will have to try breaking the bud up by hand next time. I did freeze the tube and bud for a couple hours.

I am really happy with the flavor, terpenes and how hard it hits, other waxes I have had from dispensaries are around 60-70% and I am pretty sure this is pushing closer to 70%.

What kind of butane did you use to make that? Just curious...
It was going to be power 5x but the shop recommended something else and I forget what it was.

Gas is gas...it's all the same. I have used vector, lucienne, Stok, power 5x, power 7x...work all the same as long as it passes the mirror test its all good: if it leaves residue on a mirror after spraying a spot on it it's got impurities but if it dries clean it's ok for extracting.
Yeah if you blended it you really add a lot of wax to it. Next time just use scissors & be sure to remove any stems first. I break it down over a dry sifting screen to catch any heads that may fall off during processing. The finer the material the waxier it will be because the fat comes from the stuff inside cut leaves or flowers when all you really want to extract is the resin heads themselves. Leave the material kinda chunky and pack your tube loose ...the gas will penetrate the bud crevices and liquefy the resins without extracting as much fat.
