just purchased my first set up its a six pot bubble pot system fed from a nutes tank and i need advice on the best nutes to use bearing in mind im in the uk and cant purchase half the nute mixers that americans use thank you bongsmiliepeace out

Hey Nathan, no need to fret on the nutes here are some suggestions if international brands are unattainable such as advanced nutrients or Bcuzz. If you do have access to general hydroponics, there basic 3 part (bloom micro and grow) have very time tested results :)

All three are added together in the bubbling resoivoir, following the feeding schedule on the back of the bottle. In addition, you will need to get some kind of enzyme agent to keep your system clean and ensure proper nutrient breakdown, in addition to removing old proteins. I personally recommend sensizyme from advanced nutrients (which you can order online) but hygrozyme works well too.

Now, as a final step, this should cover your veg stage, but when you switch to flowering, there are trace elements that your flower needs, and in order to prevent deficiencies, you will want to have a bloom enhancer. Again, advanced nutrients in my experience has had the best results, Bud Candy specifically, but another good one is General Organics - Bio Bud.

Hope this helps!

ps, most systems that you buy from stores come with very limited airflow (most pumps and stones are made for aquariums, not hydroponics... :-( ), and you can put as many good nutrients in your system, but unless your roots have optimal exposure to oxygen, will not break down their food and not grow! For this reason, i recommend quality airstones and an airpump that diffuses the air so the roots uptake it faster :)

If you cant buy fox farms in your area, go on ebay and get em.

You just use this feeding chart and your grow will amaze you. http://foxfarmfertilizer.com/hydrofeed.pdf

Look at my grow, Im sure you'll like what you see. The link for my setup is down by my signature.

Wishing you the best :)

just use the floramicro, florabloom, and floragro

don't use those additives. they've never really been proven in a side x side test to work at all. most people mess their plants up with it, especially first time it will be too much for you

Sorry DTP, I have to disagree with you because while for you personally they may not have worked, most companies have proven track records with their additives, just most customers have no idea how to use them which I agree with you on. For example, with any live culture solution from advanced nutrients or humboldt or GH (does not matter where it comes from), tap water will kill all organisms in the solution, in addition to damaging your roots. When testing nutrients, all companies use 0 ppm water (distilled or reverse osmosis water) and very few customers detoxify their water already.

Another reason most people do not see results is because if you have excess of one element, it may block out the absorption of another. Some people refer to this as nutrient lockout, but in most cases people do not realize this is happening and attribute nutrient lockout to an imbalance of pH.

When used properly, additives as simple as B-52 from advanced or humic acid products like diamond nectar from GH will do wonders to your garden, no matter what anyone says

Still on my first grow but I have had incredible results so far from General Hydroponics pro blend grow and flora nova. For the first few grows, I think keeping the pH and ppm where it should be is a much bigger factor than the nute brand. I also decided to start using RO water instead of tap, so I'm going to go get a little CalMag to sprinkle in. So far, I've had great results - the difference in growth is amazing, using the same nutes, but at good vs. not-so-good pH and ppm levels.

...my newb 2 cents...
