No LST mate just growed like that,..i veg'd for 5.5 weeks under 2x 45w blue CFL's,.she was like 13" tall after that but with shit load of nodes hence all the bud sights..them blues Cfl's kick arse keep the plant real short but bushy.she was 18" wide but onle 10" tall at 1 point!!

My girls done soon so startin to think about when to chop and dryin and curing so i thought i'd ask on here, so any info or tips would be great!
Ive noticed some amber trichs appearin on the sugar leave but none on the actual buds yet, is it the buds you check or is it everwhere?

I always watch calyxes rather than the trichomes, I wait until most of the calyxes have swelled up then chop. Trichomes aren't really the best indicator, as some strains never get past the cloudy stage. But to answer your question, don't worry about trich's on the sugar leaves, just watch the buds.

Finally m8. Take a small bud and quick dry, ie oven at 100c for 5mins(on paper) or wrap in paper and put on your ballast overnight. Smoke it and if the stone is dynamite which I take it, it will be, multiply that by about 10 and thats what your going to get when slow dried.

I read up loads of threads in the harvesting and curing forum before I chopped. The trichomes indicate how well the THC is maturing, or in laymans terms, how good the smoke will be. The calyx's swell just indicates how much weight there is going to be, nothing else. By the time the calyx's have swelled as much as they will do, you're at about 50+ % amber.
With a haze I would recommend not going over like 20% amber, the cloudy trichs are when the THC is at peak potency, the amber means that it has started to degrade into CBD. CBD is what gives you that couch lock stone. If you're like me and you prefer a heady high, then you should harvest when you're at like 10% amber, it'll be get your thoughts racing
Seeing as you're just growing for personal, I would definitely watch the trichs rather than the calyxs. If you're going to sell any, you could harvest as much as you want for yourself at peak THC and then let the rest swell up for a little longer. It's all personal preference though mate.

Hi WOW thanks for that mate.........Im deff into my head highs bud so ill geuss ill go with the 10%, alot of the trichs on the buds are still clear so got some time i think yet, im just tryin to figure out when to start my week flush she'll be startin week 10 thursday!

There is new research indicating that previous paradigms about harvesting when trich's turn amber is incorrect. New studies have shown that THC is at its peak when the trichome head is still clear, as they turn amber the thc degrades to cbn, which gives a heavier high. You should read some more my friend. The plants just plain aren't done until the calyx swells, plain and simple. You can combine that with examining the trich's, but I don't sweat them anymore.
I used to harvest only by trichome color, I have many harvests under my belt, I've found the calyx method to be superior for my needs.
Just because you read something in " a lot of threads" doesn't make it true.
