First CFL grow purple jems in PC case

Buy a cigar box humidor- store in baggies with the top open in the humidor and you cannot go wrong. The wood itself determines the moisture level and as a humidor is generally made out of cedar it will start out dry and absorb moisture until it and your bud have the same moisture level. At that point, the box will maintain the moisture level for you since it is sealed on the outside to prevent moisture from escaping- therefore you can use a humidor to BOTH dry and maintain moisture levels with very little attention.

I have never heard of trying that but it sounds like a good idea and the boxes are not very expensive well under 100 you can get one that looks nice. Thanks alot

Now your talking! I had a 250 cigar humidor awhile back that my daughter got me for xmas. I used it to store my weed in also. Had a built in hygrometer and chambers to soak occasionally to keep the humidity at a constant level. They are lined with cedar and you even season it with a damp cloth the first time that you use it to keep things even. I havent though about that in a few years. Thanks for the memory. It works very well. You do have to keep track of it though..because if you let it get to wet...MOLD on cigars and weed.

That will be on my want list soon. Sounds like a good idea

With bud you don't want to "season" the cigar box. Preferably it would be as dry as possible because storing bud requires like 15-20% humidity which is drastically lower than a wet humidor box(70% humidity.) The wood at it's driest in a humidor box is just under 10% and the moisture from your buds should bring that right in line to 15%. There's no reason to keep it moist so just let it get dry dry dry.

Also, don't use a box that had a glass top as light apparently degrades thc over time. get a solid wood one, and if you wanna spend a lil extra get the ones with a hygrometer so it can tell you exactly what % humidity you are at.

That would be about perfect- better would be if the hygrometer's face was on the outside of the box- they have them they are just a bit pricier.

how many seeds did you end up getting out of it?

I got 3 myself but still have my half to clean. My friend took half and he got some seeds but did not give them to me yet. I tried to germinate one but no luck so I think it was too green(had slight tint of green to seed still) I have another grow of same purple jem I just kept it in this thread. Here is a new pic of it at 15 days. I also wanted to ask anyone if they know is it too early sex at 15 days because I am pretty sure I see several locations on the plant with little white/clear hairs. If you look in the third pic even though it looks like many white things,, in the center low left you may be able to see the two white hairs splitting like a v shape. There are probably a dozen of those in different places on the plant. So going by my last one I think it may be a girl. It also threw me off that it may be a male a couple days ago it just shot up in height. Like my last male did.

No sometimes they will show between week 2 and 3. You will know tomorrow if it is. I had a purple jem show balls on day 13 once.

I am hoping and I don't wanna transplant it if its a male. It has gotten taller since last night LOL

I repotted her(I hope its a her LOL ) looks pretty damn good so I hope its not male. lots of branching,, I just sprayed it down with superfoliage spray and will let dry a bit before back under the lights. I have to keep the lights on 24hr due to cold temps. barely in 70 even with lights on all day.

I got a total of 50 seeds from the half of the bud I kept and not sure what my friend got. Seemed like a lot of seeds is that normal,, Many of them seem very small already had 1 not germinate. Also got an Auto Haze seed germinating I will start another thread on that one LOL it will be more fun. I may have to ditch the PC case and put in a small 150w HPS and some CFL's in the cabinet the pc case is in.

They all look undeveloped.. Probably why you have some that hasn't germed.. Your developed seeds will be a dark brown with some stripes..

my exact thoughts were immature or underdeveloped. I knew that I had to pollinate late and there would probably not be enough time. I have alot more pollen so maybe next time. I thought they should look more brown and stripped. Thanks man the one I have growing now I think is female and looking good so maybe I will pollinate her.

If you go here Seed production, a tutorial... You should get all the information you need to get them nice developed tiger striped seeds next harvest..

Some of them will pop. Remember each AF has a window you can pollinate in. After that it is a waste of time and pollen. The plant just won't have the time it needs to make a mature seed.

From the small plants. The hybrid dwarfs. Like the Blue Streak, and Purple Jem. I get like 50 to 100 seeds per plant. On the larger AF's. Like MiniThunderFuck. I have gotten 100 to 150 seeds per plant. So if you do 2 or 3 plants your good to go for some time.

Thanks Monko I had read that, everything went like planned except the time they had to mature. Some of them are pretty big,brown and stripped so maybe they will pop. Thanks Gom you guys have helped me alot.

Remember you need to dry the seeds before you try to germ. I am having that problem. I think I got a little inpatient with the last batch. I'm getting a real crappy germ rate. Like 45%. But I got 4 pollinated lady's going right now. So lots of seeds to be had soon.

Well they were on the bud for a few weeks drying and in a jar before I removed them, is that good enough? Well here a couple pics of her it is official and I think you can tell from the pic that it is a female. Looking kinda droopy but i think my other one did the same thing once it started flowering or it could be the transplant that happened a couple days ago.

I have had them germ the day after I pulled it from the plant. But I find I can get more of them to germ if I wait like 2 to 4 weeks. I put them in little med cups. In a drawer.
