so here it is....Ive been reading this site for a couple days now, and since i started a cfl grow on 1-1-09 if figured I'd share with you all as well. Please feel free to coment @ any time.
On 12-25-08 I pulled 4 seeds from hudreds i've colected over the course of about 7 years... I picked the 4 best seeds I could .... simply put them in some year old miracle grow potting soil, and watered them.....all four in the same little clay pot... three days later they were up.....we had guests from wisco for 3 days so I was constanly trying to find out of the way places to put them ,as my wife is house proud, and had to show every room and the cellar.....
to the point. I didn't have any lights when I started this grow.... so I bought a 200 w light bulb ( just a plain bulb)
they sat under that for 3 days... started stretching a bit, but i halted that.
On couple days later, I found this sight. I went directly to k-mart and stocked up.
3 42w soft white
3 20? daylight
4 emergency blankets
1 light clamp
spliters x 3
today I got 2 65w cfls
I built a box 4' x 4' x 6'
I am using the lower 3' , and 2' depth.
I'm growing in 1gal milk jugs so far, that and dixy cups, and water bottles.
everything is bag seed, and has been under cfls for 12 days.
organic grow.... worm castings and water.
so give me some input....
the pics I have are on the 8th day under lights.
