If he wants to try against everyones input I would say do it. If it works awesome if not then learn from it...
Learn that you should listen to the experienced growers and also learn to have some patience...
When I learned to clone I killed around 30 cuttings before being successfull I wont lie. Its because I was being inpatient and trying to do things my way...just like you...but now im a cloning badass I get damn near 100 percent everytime...
Live and learn bro...

For the record. I have made the clones on 31 of October. No one said not to do it then. It is useless to talk about it after a deed is done...
I should have the results in a few days.
Like I said. I needed to learn the procedure so I will be ready next time when I really need to be efficient.

The mother plants are growing vigorously. One of the clones seems to be dying but the others are fine for now.

More on that later,
have a great weekend folks

You will find you'll need to use a rooting powder. Mj will produce sites that will root on their own but you will not see this on any indoor grown plant or plant that is not on its native turf. I use and have been using stimroot #2. I have noticed that you can get this at Lowes for like a $5 bill.

I put my seedlings under 12/12 asap using a 1kw hps. I will get a chance to get a snip off each one leaving no less than three nodes on each seedling.
