i have run into my first DWC problem, knew it wouldnt take long, my water is extremely hard so all my nutes r locked up and my leaves are turning into paper and crumbling off. i had to make a trek to the grow store to get some ph down so hopefullt thatll fix it. my ph was set to 7 last night and i checked it this morning and it was at 9.1!!! i have it down to 6.2 now and am toying with the idea of transferring all to their own 5 gal buckets. seems like it may be easier to care for them on an individual level. im starting to miss dirt farming, its only day 10 so i still have tons of time to get used to DWC'ing. peace and chicken grease :bigjoint:

it looks good i like the set up did u build that yourself it so can you explain how you did it and the tools you used to do it im looking to build a system like this myself

20 gallon rubbermaid
dual air pump
2 12" airstones
net pots and hydroton

  1. trace around netpots on lid of rubbermaid
  2. cut out holes for pots (i drilled a pilot hole then jigsawed the rest of the material away)
  3. used a small bit to drill holes for air lines
  4. and thats all there is to it.
so the flow chart from your wall socket would be: wall socket-airpump-air hose tubing-check valve (prevents h20 coming back into pump and setting ur house on fire)after check valve: tubing going into reservoir-12" airstone-submerge airstone- bubbles.

hopefully that makes sense, i have started another grow using 5 gallon buckets, very easy to do, if youd like directions for that let me know.
