all mdf boards for it i got for free, its the type of mdf they have at shops selling buildingmaterial. they have 1 mdf board under all types of building plates on pallets. like a protective board between the pallet and the plates. they usually just collect them when pallets are emptied and are usually glad to get rid of them.

very easy to work with and solid as hell

Nice, sounds like a good price! I collect the reflective material from boxes of basil. They wrap basil in Reflectolux (reflective bubblewrap) for shipping. When it gets to the store they take it off and throw it away, I go around and round it up. I have my whole grow room covered in it!

my ladies have been getting more droopy by the day and rust spots occuring on some leafs on pretty much all the plants. my tap water obiously has a ph of 7.5

after i add nutes ph is about 6.9-7.0
just checked runoff for the first time... 5.0 ph....

any suggestions? and no i dont have any ph-up or ph-down

day of flowering, girls have gone past the 2 feet mark allready :p

hey crazee i just started reading your log... its frikn awesome!! got alot of really good ideas for my grow setup... i definately think that your low ph is causing those problems for your girls. baking soda can be used as ph up, and vinegar can be used as ph down... dillute them in water, i would just eyeball it... try to get that run-off between 6.0 - 6.5 and u should b good in my humble opinion. yay! that was my first post! hope i didnt fuck it up...

ive heard that before about baking soda and vinegar. might have to try that. just dont know how high i should ph my nute mix to get the runoff up there..

rust spots, organics worst enemy :( have you tried epsom salt yet? I give a little to my plants every other feeding and it helps alot.

It's not nute burn, from what I've experienced it's PH deficiency which is the nr.1 killer of hopes and dreams..
Are you using tap water? how hard is your tap water?
I've had that issue in the past, but switched my water to a Reverse Osmosis system and now my plants grow without a single problem.
If you can't afford a RO system then just buy Distilled water or De-mineralized water which runs very very cheap like cents / bottle
Those are a growers best friend.. especially if you're feeding them then I'd recommend mixing your nutes with that water and it should balance out at around 5.9PH anyways.

yes i use tap water. dont know the ppm as i dont have a ppm meter.. i live in europe somewhere though and my tapwater is from a glacier.. they even bottle the stuff up and sell on bottlers in the states for insane prices..

and bottled destilled water costs a fortune over here. each watering would cost me almost 10 dollars

ok i just checked the website of my "state" , " our water hardness is at 0.5-2.5 as in very wet with little salts like calcium and magnesium"

yea bro, if ur getting that good glacier water from the tap and it has hardly any metals in it, ur girls are prolly experincing nute lock (i think thats an actual term). first test the pH of your soil and then adjust the pH of your water/nute mix (always adjust the pH of your water after you add the nutes) so it balances out the soil's pH to 5.9 - 6.5. to test the soil's pH, take a sample of the soil and mix it with DISTILLED water (use distilled or r.o. water because the water needs to be nuetral so that the only pH u r reading is the pH of the soil). a pH pen or probe is better for this because i tried using the genhydro ph tester kit and its hard to read the color thru the mud... so, for example, if ur soil has a pH of 5.1, ur nute mix should have a pH of 7.4 ( 5.1 + 7.4 = 12.5 / 2 = 6.25). hope this helps

Plants are lookin pretty sweet, despite the few yellowed leaves!
If its a water problem your having, tackle it at the core!

1. Purify your water.
3. Mineralize your water.

It may be worth investing in an R.O filter, coz you get your water purified, and retain the minerals (however much there may be). This just cleans your water up. Next, mineralize!
You can use some catalyst altered water to change the structure of your water, to allow it to readily carry minerals to your plant. This can be done using some devices (probably get one with an added filter too if you shop around).
This should give you a good "bottled water" kinda water, which should be good for the plants. You can always add nutes to supplement any that are lacking!

thank you man, that was really helpful :) i have a ph pen so gonna go to the store later and get some destilled water and test the soil once and for all.
stick around and we will see how it works out. i dont have ph-up ph-down though so not sure how i can adjust it after nutes are added without them.
was told earlier that vinegar and baking soda can be used but they only last for a very short time?..

im afraid my budget is rather thin at the moment.. i planned on using like 100-150 dollars on this "growroom" and im up in 1800 dollars allready :p no more equipment until next cycle hehe thank you though

short update today.
this is now day 5 of flowering and first signs of flowers are showing pretty well now. still struggling with yellowing\dropping lower foliage but ill just see how it goes.
they are going to get water only for the next 5-6 days in hopes it sorts itself.

other than that they are looking awesome, they have even started smelling more after only 5 days of flower :P much more enjoyable opening the door now hehe.
