Are your cfls on their sides, where the most light is emmited?
Your temps are in the 80°s. Closer will raise heat.
Most heat is emmited from the tip of the bulbs.
I guess I should have quoted a comment.Hey,
Lights are on their sides yeatster. I read that this is good for getting the most from a CFL.
I understand moving them closer will raise heat, what did you mean by that tho? please elaborate if you don't mind..
(currently looking at this T5 for the upgrade option)
After some browsing I am drawn to this one

What do you guys think?
Thanks Yeatster,Sh

Someone mentioned that they have their lights @ 2", which would be better, but I'm afraid it would get far too hot.
Carry on sir, great work!
Yes I am going to let them get strong in the current pot before transplanting...They are CFL they needed to be a little closer =)You waiting 7-10 days to transplant those right? Why light sooo close? You wrote a lot how old again?
Yes, I think I should have done this. My nodes are so stacked ATM.Thanks Yeatster,
My plants were about 1.5" away up until two days ago...I am going to be transplanting them soon..I hope by moving the light up a couple of inches this week I can get a little stretch...which I will then transplant down further into there new home. (I am hoping with that extra stretch on the stem I get this week, once buried in their new home, will help with more root growth and benefit me in the long run..)
Well I am not sure if what I'm doings any benefit. I can spot some looking like there on their 4th node right now.Yes, I think I should have done this. My nodes are so stacked ATM.
I would have liked another cm or so between nodes and have a bit of a bigger plant, but then again there's more plant for the low intensity lighting to have to penetrate. Hmmm I dunno.Well I am not sure if what I'm doings any benefit. I can spot some looking like there on their 4th node right now.
So exciting! They are going to need more soil very soon!

If 420Prim doesn't mind, and gives the okay, you should toss a pic of your tightly noded lady.I would have liked another cm or so between nodes and have a bit of a bigger plant, but then again there's more plant for the low intensity lighting to have to penetrate. Hmmm I dunno.
Yea for sure, I am very new here and browse as much as possible to learn what I can on RIU. This is all for learning and I want to be able to source it down the road. So all shared progress as it relates to mine is helpful and beneficial. If 420Prim doesn't mind, and gives the okay, you should toss a pic of your tightly noded lady.
I have one too, I could show.
Peace
When you are ready, I suggest getting a journal going. If you run into problems it will be much easier for people to help, knowing what has been going on the whole show. Most times others will recognize a problem before it becomes an issue.Enjoyed reading this so far.
Also a newb, and in the plans of doing a 1st grow as well. But am not in any hurry. So I will continue my reading and research, along with notes. Lots of notes.
I plan to do so. I will b building a grow box soon. 4x3x5.When you are ready, I suggest getting a journal going. If you run into problems it will be much easier for people to help, knowing what has been going on the whole show. Most times others will recognize a problem before it becomes an issue.
