First grow (3 weeks in) opinions

Just looking for any feedback. This is my practice grow next time im planning to get some good seeds after working through all the problems of a new grower.

Is my plant stretching to much?

I just now topped it should i have started topping at an earlier stage?

Any concerns or ideas please comment

They look amazing. You are on the right track. My hats off to you for testing the water before diving in - a very smart move. You can top as soon as you would like. It depends on what you are topping for. Do you want to make a mother or just have more colas? I like to top when they are like a week old. Don't top more than 2 times unless you know whats going to happen.

Nah man, those definitely arent stretching. Very nice thick stem, can definitely hold it's own weight.

If your worried about stretching, take a knife, cut 2 small holes in the wall of the planter, behind the plant, take a peice of string ( i like to use nylon string or sewing string )

feed it through one hole, pull it around the front of the plant, just under the first node of leaves, then feed the other end of the string out.

Pull it a bit till the plant bends against the wall a little bit. then tie the string in a knot.

Give it about 3-4 days like this, then cut the string.

If you didnt know, this is called LST ( Low Stress Training )

And when your plant grows, it will reach for light, causing a natural bend in the stem, making it grow to the side instead of just straight upwards.

I do this with all my plants. Not only is it beneficial for preventing stretching plants, but allows more light to hit those nodes, allowing for better growth from under the top of the plant.

That other plant on the other hand...idk if thats relatively new to that pot, but i'd immediately transplant it into it's own pot.

The planter your using looks pretty small, and if you want big plants, then you'll have problems later with rootbound plants, or root locked plants.

They're roots will become intertwined, leaving them to fight each other for water and nutrients.

( I made the same mistake, only i have 5 plants in 1 pot, and luckily they arent developed enough yet, so i still have time to transplant them )

I am topping to make two main stems, and this will not be a mother plant. Just wondering what is a colas?

I am also trying to figure out how long I should keep it in its veg cycle to reach a high of 2 feet or if i should wait till it gets 1 foot then change it to its flowering stage.

I wouldn't let it get too tall, a foot should be plenty. I hope it's a girl. Looks very healthy, good luck!
