Sorry for the lack of updates. Now that the holidays are more or less behind me, it's back to work! :bigjoint:

Tonight I made a cheap DIY CO2 addition to my tent.

did this in two 2-litre pop/soda bottles (lucky for me, tomorrow is garbage day and I found these in my overweight-neigbour's recycling... I don't drink pop)

I mixed about 2-3 cups of water with 1-2 cups of sugar and 1/4 teaspoon of active yeast, shook it up and had a nice sizzle.

I put the caps back on a drilled a small hole into the top.. perhaps I should be letting or more CO2.. I dunno. I'll give the bottles a shake everytime I check on the plants. I read that a setup like this should provide about two weeks worth of CO2

Here they are placed in my tent in front of my fan.

Here are a couple of shots of some of the buds developing. Can't wait! :weed:

Have you considered bending that tall branch down to level height w/ the rest? It will unbend itself further up the plant from where you place your bend, and will continue to grow upwards w/ the rest of the plant, but the plant will now think the entire canopy is "one cola" and you will have tons of colas instead of just your highest bud.

Hey man great tip.. the rest of the plant is fairly bush.. never thought about tying the tallest one down.. makes sense.. I'll do that tomorrow! +rep

Plus I was running out of room with my light and fan getting in the way..

Your very welcome :-D

Just in case if you have never before I would look up and learn about super cropping and how to properly bend/tie it down so you don't accidentally snap it, that would suck.

Basically you can either just bend it over and tie it w/ string is one way, or you can if its not too thick already sort of rub it between your thumb and finger to break the wall and gently guide it down to the bend, this will also make the stalk above the 'break' grow very thick and strong.

Oh, since you are already in flowering, you may NOT want to do the 'snap' method, the plant might not have enough in it to heal itself w/ focusing on bud production. Bending/tying down may be your best bet if its not already too rigid, otherwise, at least now you know :-D.

Hey Ott,

Looking good, I'm curious to see how the CO2 thing works out for you, I've been considering buying a CO2 generator but I'm not completely sure if I can justify it.

Thanks again Smokey.. it was a great suggestions, as this is my first grow this is the type of thing that I'm looking for, critisims and a sounding board for ideas/suggestions. I really appreciate it.

I just tied it down with some string and taped the string to the side of my bucket. Ain't pretty but now I have a much more even canopy. This has the extra benefit of me being able to lower my light by quite a bit too! So I think this should help me out a lot...

@roadracer Thanks!
@Benign: Gastanker shared a great link regarding CO2 and calculations for your grow area...

I'll see if I can find the link to the forum...

So my first time cloning. I know most people probably don't care about my clones but since its my first time I'm posting a photo and an update

I took these cuttings 3 days ago and they were flopped over and looked dead.. stems were almost laying flat on the soil.

Now as you can see they have become somewhat erect (like a 85 year old man). so I'm hoping they survive

The other plant in the background is some arugula that I planted. The front planter is some basil that doesn't seem to have taken yet :(

In the main tent I shook up the bottles with my sugar/yeast mixture in it seemed to be a nice steady stream of CO2 getting pumped out from both bottles. Pretty happy about that!

Here is a terrible shot of one of the flowers in my tent:

dude i care bout yer clones, they look good. let them dry out a bit (not too much) it will make the plant want to form roots. neglect is sometimes you best friend :)

im pretty proud of my clones as well took 8 and seems all of them rooted\, they look like shit now but im hoping they take a turn for the better soon

Yes I noticed from your journal that they initially laid flat so I wasn't too worried and then they started to come up... your journal and Loyalty's has been a lot of help as we're all kind of on the same timelines +/- a week or so.

show us some pics of the new canopy :-D

Also make sure that tape is on there good and strong, as the branch is going to want to lift back up!

It will be worth the wait though.. you've got some nice bushies... with some great bud sites. I gotta do some work on my setup and start tying down some branches so I don't end with tons o popcorn

will do..

yeah one of the beasts ripped the tape off.. I resecured but at least the branch had been bent enough by then to not shoot right back up 5-6 inches above everything else.

I think its time for me to start doing some canopy management as things are getting really dense in there...

Couple of Canopy shots as requested. Sorry things are so tight in my basement I can't step back enough to take a decent shot.

Lots of delicious looking bud sites!:
