I had these pic's posted in another forum page, but wanted to move it here since i am using cfl lights. These plants are 1month 2 days old from seed exactly.

Im using 2x 23 watt cfl 2x 40+ watt cfl warm light and 1 2ft florescent light 75watts. The pots seem small (1.5L )and im looking for advice on what to use, i want the plants to be no taller then 3 ft so im gonna flower them at 1ft. As for flowering, i know i need more lighting but how much more?

if your looking to finish her off a 3 feet id say go with a 3gallon pot. 1 gallon for every foot of growth. I wouldnt try to grow her out in that pot. Its way to small. id say transplant 2 weeks TOPS

What do u mean? should i transplant them within 2 weeks tops? Also i just recently topped them, i was told to get 4 main colas, but after the two new branches grow out when should i top them again for the other 2 colas and where? (and when top the plant, do u just discard it?)

I'll post some pic's when the 2 new branches grow as well.

im saying that you should transplant them within 2 weeks. if you continue to let them grow out in those small pots they will become root bound. You can top as many times as you want just remember that it will put the plant in shock and you will lose growing time. I topped mine as well. Just throw the part you cut away. Also dont top during flowering heard it wasnt good to shock a plant while flowering. Heres some pictures of my plant topped and under cfls. shes in flowering now

the bigger the pot the bigger the plant. thats if you want it big. my flowering girl is in a 5 gallon pot just so her roots dont get bound up but i dont want a 5 ft plant

My plants have recently become fairly droopy and im not sure as to why, i transplanted them about 3 days ago and im not sure if it is from that or not. Ive also considered the pH levels being a problem but i dont see any signs that would say so, the plants look exactly the same as before but they are droopy now. Also could a big temp drop form day to night be a problem? because recently it has gotten fairly cold and the temp's have been changing a fair amount, sometimes over a 10 degree change.

The transplant is probobly the reason for the droopy leaves, most of the time you should allow for a 1 week shock period for transplants. As far as how much more lights, thats a questions of how much u want to fit inside, the more light the better, HID would be best but as far as cfls if ur plant is 2ish feet tall and u want to get 1-2 o'z your going to want cfls for side lighting and ontop, id say if u had a mix of 10 of the 23w and 40w you should be alright, just make sure ur moving them around to optimize ur lights proximity to the plants. The temp problem is from what i assume happening at night, do ur lights go on during the day or night, if the are on during the day try slowly switching them over to a night time cycle, that way the lights will keep the plants warm at night and they would just stay warm during the day

One side note for you. Keep the grow room clean you dont want bugs getting in there. I too am on my first grow and maybe a week in front of you but I have a terrible spidermite problem. They have been giving me hell for maybe two weeks now! ahhh. Just try to keep it clean from a fellow grower.

happy growings.
