First grow aerogarden/transplant

Well my friend and I have decided to quit spending so much damn money on our daily activity we enjoy all too much and grow some of our own. After lurking around the internet for a few days i decided the aerogarden is basically a fool proof noobie machine. We gathered up some seeds and germed them then stuck them in the ag. I have the whole flora bloom ect line of hydro nutes coming in tomarrow. I dont know what kind of seeds we used... just took them out of a bag of reg dro so im not expecting it to be bomb ass just a confidence booster to see if we can do it, then get some good seeds. It has been a little over a week since we introduced them to the ag and they seem to be coming along quite nicely. We put a small fish tank bubbler in the unit to keep things flowing.

Anyways, we have the oppertunity and the space to expand our experiment so i was thinking we could make a more advanced aeroponic design for some nice girls to grow in. We are working with an attick (the kind with the small door on the side of a room that is slanted) but its starting to get hot. I found a small a/c unit that we could use to keep it under control (hopefully) during the harsh summer climate. We want to grow about 10 plants with the new setup and use the ag for cloning. Thats the facts.

Now, when cloning, do you make the cut before or during flowering? Im pretty confused on this part because how would you know if it was male? Unless the first clone is just a test and lable them according to the plant and throw them out when the sex shows on the main plant and continue to clone from there. idk...
also, would a 400w hps be enough for 10 plants? or should we just do 5? those lights get damn expensive quick so we are trying to budget as much as possible (i know i bought a frikin ag...)

I have learned a lot in the last week about growing and i continue to learn every day. I found that there are a lot of good tutorials on youtube and here so maybe i'll do alright.
I still need to make a trip to the hydro store to get some mylar and some other stuff i cant think of while i sit up unable to sleep because we ran out of :joint: last night and i just cant get tired. Either way, suggestions and comments are appreciated.

a few are slanted a bit because i dropped the stem a bit lower because the light was too high and they were starting to stretch for it and grew slanted... itl be aight though.

You'd be better off just growing in some good organic soil like Ocean Forest. Aerogardens are not suited for weed, they're hardly even suited for little vegetables or herbs. They're novelties, at best, and are gonna produce very little weed on leggy plants. Just saying, buckets are a couple bucks and soil is cheap too. That light isn't gonna do much.

edit: Don't mean to come off as some condescending asshole, but really soil is super cheap and paired with a good 400W setup (MH & HPS, or just HPS) you could grow ~5 alright plants (I'd maybe do 4). Then again, you can build semi cheap aeroponic/hydroponic setups with a little work.

I went to check on the plants today and a few of them are developing yellow/brown tip spotting. If my memory serves me correctly, this is a sign of potassium deficiency. if anyone could tell me how to resolve this problem that would be great.

Hi all. Where is the best place to site an aerogarden? Are these novel devices any good for growing two or three plants and of course for getting healthy buds ? :weed:
