First grow....any input would help!

Please do not be too hard on me here (talk about DIY lol). I am fairly young, broke, and this is my first attempt to growing....I have been reading a lot and the more I read, the more confused and frustrated I get....these pics I took today are about 35 days from (the strongest looking/mutated plant and approximately 3 wks from the remaining others) seed sprouting roots.....

First off mistakes made/what you need to know about what I have been doing thus far:
-initially put seedlings in a peet moss starting cup. (the mossy cup took the moisture right out of the soil and I watered everyday bc the soil got so dry very quick)
-For the first 3 wks I had them on 24 hrs of light. (After reading on this site and talking to some personal friends they said 12/12 lighting cycles never hurts and that my plants are way too far behind because of keeping the light on 24 hrs a day)
-I bought a light timer and have done 12/12 lighting for 5 days now and will continue to do so until someone warns me I guess? (my thinking is ppl can throw seeds outside and the natural lighting allows for grow from the seed to the harvesting of the buds) ????
- The most full and abnormal plant had its leaves trimmed at a very early age i.e. my cat (turned my back to grab the spray bottle for watering and the leaves were gone....there were two that this happened to and the other died shortly after. Maybe it helped this plant? maybe not?)
-I germinated the fullest plant with moist paper towels in a ziplock bag with air blow in and closed off....I tried to release and fill the air several times daily....where as the rest of the tall plants who most need support to stay standing we over watered before I went on a weekend trip and I came back to them passing my best plant in height. I am too new to this to know what to do or think. So hopefully these pics and descriptions will help someone help me.
-The last thing you need to know is that I got a store bought soil with Nitrogen at 2x a percentage as phosphorus and potassium.

Please take a look at the pics and descriptions and voice and opinion of whether or not I am wasting my time or if damage is too far done to these plants...

The growing area

I only have a standard 4' lighting fixture with two brand new cfl grow blubs I purchased at the local home improvement store. The lights are supported by plastic storage bins, then made a wall so my cat cant get to the plant with the box fan, space heater (helping to regulate temp. which I have kept between 72 F-76 F), and the green rubbermaid container (spray bottle is sitting on). On all faces of the inside of the area I have recently put a reflective gift wrapping paper, to help the lighting. The reflective paper is along the wall on the one side and taped to the lighting fixture on the near side of the grow area, which in the next picture you will hopefully better understand. To take the top view picture I flipped over the lighting fixture the reflective paper taped to the lights. Compare the first and second pictures if your still confused...

If you had the time to read this and have the time to help me out or voice suggestions/opinions this confused grower would appreciate it very much!

P.S. VanillaGame was thought of based on the Vanilla flavored GAME blunts. Those long and slow burning papers are my first choice when rolling a blunt. (For those wondering)

Ok first off you need at least 18hrs of light from sprout thru veg. Ok and for all the rest, go to barnes and nobles and by the book below or get it off line at isohunt. Dude this book will set you straight and you will be on your game fast. 18 hrs light.
