Other than growth being a little slow I think my grows going okay. However, my biggest plants leaves are starting to curl at the base and I'm getting some yellowing on the 2 smaller plants. Do these girls look okay? Is it time to start nutes?
Do you think I should start nutes next water?Yeah I'd say look good bro, I'm a newbie too tho.
It's FF happy frog mixed with perlite and amended with worm castings and kelp. I wasn't sure if the yellowing was a sign that I'm getting low on nutrients. Not if you git good soil
The "yellowing" that you're seeing is just bright green new growth. That's a good thing! I live to constantly see bright green new growth on vegging plants. They look fine. Happy Frog is what I use as well, and it's pretty light on nutrients, but has a lot of awesome microbial life in it. I don't think you need to feed yet, but if you do just use 1/4 strength. And as always, make sure you pH your feed! It's FF happy frog mixed with perlite and amended with worm castings and kelp. I wasn't sure if the yellowing was a sign that I'm getting low on nutrients.
Yeah I would start to feed them some. The purple stem could also be a sign of a nutrient issue. So did you amend the soil yourself and if so how much kelp and wc did you use, I ask cause I like the build your own soil method but have never done it.It's FF happy frog mixed with perlite and amended with worm castings and kelp. Mainly concerned with like this yellow stripe in the attached pic. Couldn't really find anything online about it. And some of the green growth has definitely started to turn yellow at the base of the leaves. I seem to be dealing with a little bit of heatstress coupled with over or underwatering. Watering has been a nightmare to figure out in these 5 gallon pots. Some parts of the plants seem to be exhibiting overwatering symptoms and some parts are exhibiting underwatering. The "yellowing" that you're seeing is just bright green new growth. Welcome to RIU, always nice to see a new gardner joining the hobby. They look nice bud. I am a coco grower and have not used FF so I won't comment on that but you got some good advice going. I wish you luck.Other than growth being a little slow I think my grows going okay. Did you see my question about nitrogen toxicity? A LOT of new growth has happened since those pictures were taken. I'm getting dark leaves and some clawing. The very tips of new growth are also a lime green color and its a pretty noticeable edge of different color. I'm thinking I have some nitrogen toxicity. So if I have n-tox, do I stop nutes all together? Or continue to dose a small amount of PK to aid in uptake of nitrogen. My understanding is that there is a relationship there.Welcome to RIU, always nice to see a new gardner joining the hobby. They look nice bud.
