First Grow - Bag Seed - Starting 7th Week of Flowering

Here's a snap shot of all my flowering plants now. They're a motley crew of experiments and what not. I was trying out stuff like super cropping, topping, and 12/12 from seeding. Anyway here they are.

Well, I cut some of the popcorn buds off the lower parts of this plant. It's only got another week of flower and they weren't getting any bigger so I figured it would be a great test of the quality of the beast.

I used the "steam" dry microwave method and this is how they turned out.

Hit 1 - 17:45
OK, so I take my first hit out of my ice bong. As I exhale, a surprising amount of smoke leaves my lips and I am struck with the realization that I am now officially high off one hit. Holy shit.

I'm not stoned off my ass at this point, but I'm pleasently high and it hit quick and hard. The high is a great energy high too! Awesome! So I go clean a little and do some gardening chores, about 30 mins pass and I'm still just as high as when I took the one and only hit I took.

I now know the power of this newly bad-assified kind bud. It may have been born of humble means, a bag seed from some crappy mexican weed, but it is a god in my eyes now.

And I want another hit...

Hit 2 - 18:15
Ah... my lovely little leaf, it's time I light you up.

Again the effect hits me pretty quickly and now I'm at or near stoned, and I like it. It's still a nice up high and I go do some more gardening stuff for the next little while.

Hit 3 - 19:00
About 3/4's of an hour later the effects have diminished slightly but I'm still nicely stoned. Maybe coming down from stoned to just high but still stoned for now.

I'm back to my bong to take the third toke. I only use my bong; until I get my vaporizer. With this third hit the tops of the buds have begun to turn a reassuring white/gray meaning the buds are nicely dried.

I can't tell you how happy I am that this is an energy high; I HATE heavy stoned highs. I like this high energy stoned much, much better.

Hits 4-? 21:30
I've finished off the bong, there is actually a little wet bud in the bottom I've pulled out. I let the bong melt, doh! That's the problem with ice bongs. You get REALLY stoned and then totally forget about the bong and the water that will drip all over your desk or coffee table.

Bowl 2 - 21:45
I am now offically totally mother fucking stoned off my ass in a hand basket carried by four old italian women riding bright yellow midget motorcycles down the streets of... Um, what... what what I talking about again?

Oh yeah. I'm stoned. Most stoned I've been in YEARS. Back when I lived in the weed capitol of the Rockies, Boulder, I could get some good shit but this is now and that weed was a long, long time ago.

Damn, I'm stoned.

Well, I went ahead and bought a vaporizer since I'll be having so much bad ass weed to smoke now. I looked around a lot and still had no clue what to buy. I like the Volcano but it was ridiculously expensive and I refuse to pay that much for what cost $50 to make.

I also really like the Silver Surfer:

But the price is $250 and that's the maximum I want to spend. And it's still just some metal, a re-engineered ceramic soldering iron core, and some glass tubing. Hmmm, what to do.

Then I found "Da Buddha!" It's $150 and it's made by the same people that make the Silver Surfer. In fact it has the same internal's as the SSV!

I'm a complete newbie and wanted to keep it simple so I went with 1 step organic fertilizer. I went with organics because I read that they are easier to work with and you are less likely to burn your plants. In fact I DIDN'T burn my plants until I misused a non-organic bud booster (Monster Bloom).

So, for my main fertilizer I used Botanicare's Pure Blend Pro Grow and Bloom. I switched around using full strength fertilizer every other feeding and half strength every feeding and liked the half strength every feeding better. It gives the plant a more even feeding and you're less likely to burn your plant.

Once the plants go into flowering I also give them 1tbsp/g (15ml/4l) Black Strap Molasses every other feeding. I used to give it to them in veg too but the Molasses can cause a nitrogen deficiency so have stopped using it then.

Also I've been foliar feeding the plant about once a week with a mix of plain water and 1tsp/g (5ml/4l) Black Strap Molasses. I get it on the buds too, people freak out over this but it's fine. Buds get wet in the rain don't they? This seems to really help the production of resin as the one bud I didn't spray isn't nearly as resinous as the ones I did treat.

And finally I gave this plant 3 treatments of GroTek's Monster Bloom. I made the mistake of trying to feed the plant the Monster Bloom two weeks in a row and it burned it pretty badly so don't do that! Even with the burn the Monster Bloom helped massively. I now use it as directed and it is fantastic, no more burns.

I usually don't give the plant its normal fertilizer on the day that I give it the Monster Bloom. I know it says it's OK to do so but I make that feeding also coincide with the Molasses and I don't want to burn the plant, again.

The biggest thing I've learned from this is not to over fertilizer. Of course every newbie has heard this a billion times and either ignores, or like I did, underestimates the strength of very powerful fertilizers. I was doing really well up to 2 weeks into flowering then I screwed up with the Monster Bloom.

Oh, and my lights are a home made CFL (312 watt, 21,000 lumen) for veg and a 400W HPS for flower.

I just bought another 400W HPS so I can harvest 6 plants every month. The bag seeds I have been growing seem to do perfectly with 3 or 4 weeks of veg. Any more and they get too tall for my grow area.

Looks great. Get a Volcano - Only vap I ever used, but it was fucking awesome.

Awesome kidsingle! I started growing because a buddy of mine grew some in a cabinet using some CFL's. The weed was pretty damn good so I figured I'd try myself.

I've now got two 400W HPS's for flowering and one 21,000 lumen CFL homemade light for veg. I figured this would allow me to have six new plants every month. One month in veg then two months in flower. A veg plant goes to the flowering light as soon as the flowering crop is harvested. Now you move the clones you created two weeks earlier from your mother plant under the vegging light.

Each crop consists of six clones from a mother plant. A mother plant can easily give me six clones a month. Usually people take clones every two weeks.

Basicially my system goes like so:

Month 0.0: Move crop 1 clones to veg light.
Month 0.5: Start clones for crop 2.
Month 1.0: Move crop 1 to flower. Move crop 2 clones to veg light.
Month 1.5: Start clones for crop 3.
Month 2.0: Crop 1 flowering. Move crop 2 to flower. Move crop 3 clones to veg light.
Month 2.5: Start clones for crop 4.
Month 3.0: Harvest and dry/cure crop 1. Crop 2 flowering. Move crop 3 to flower. Move crop 4 clones to veg light.
Month 3.5: Start clones for crop 5.
Month 4.0 Crop 1 dry/cure done, ready for smoking! Harvest and dry/cure crop 2. Crop 3 flowering. Move crop 4 to flower. Move crop 5 clones to veg light.
... continue cycle ad infinitum.

This should give me about six to twelve ounces a month for my own use. Since I can't possibly smoke that much I'll be able to save four ounces a month at least. I'll let this long cure for several month. Once I build up a nice stash of weed that's cured for at least six months, I'll drop down to four plants a month. Plus I'll be growing the certified bad ass weed then too so it should go a lot farther.

Man, I need to get a good vaporizer.

looks good! i too am growing bagseeds but your plants look amazing.. looks like youll have a good amount i was wondering after you went into flowering how long till your plants showed bud? im a week and a day in no buds yet just wondering when i can see these beautiful things start to bud gl bro and good smoking

If the mexicans, for lack of better name, took the time to grow and cure and trim all the shit they grow, we couldn't get nice mid's for $80 a bag. The stuff serves a purpose. your plants look nice, skunk is my favorite smell....

It will take longer than a week. I think I was showing bud by week two and by week four my plant looked like this:

Yep, harvested. I broke my camera but I just got it back yesterday. I'll upload the pics now.

I got just a little under 1.5 oz off this one total. Not too bad for a first time.

The main cola was 100 grams wet and dried out to about 20g. I took pictures of the smaller secondaries but can't find the pics. Might have lost them when I broke my camera, they weren't on the memory card. I had five smaller secondaries that came out to a little over 4g each dried.







Note: I DID NOT SEND IN MY CAMERA WITH THE MEMORY CARD WITH POT PICS ON IT! But my camera is the only method I have of getting the pics to the computer via the memory card I kept safely in my home.

I dried it for 5 days then smoked it. The buds were nice and hard and it got me really, really high but I've had better. I think I may have lost some potency or something because when I would smoke the popcorn buds that I'd pick off before I harvested it; they'd get me even higher. It might just be that it takes more for me to get high now that I have a steady supply of smoke and subsequently smoke a lot more.

Oh, and I'm realizing I DO want some of the stoney feeling you get from the indicas. While this one gave me a great energy high there was virtually no stoney to it. I know I harvested too early, should have waited for more trichs to turn amber but I saw one amber one and it was 8 weeks and I wanted to get high and I didn't have any more smoke and I COULDN'T wait two more weeks.
