First grow - Basic 5000-5500k 13w CFL lamps for now - Aurora Indica

Update: Aurora Indica is on week 2 of seedling stage, AK47 is on week 1 of seedling stage (god I hope nothing bad happens to this plant, I want AK soooooo bad), and the massive Mexican is doing amazing! That plant is HUGE! I'm going to have to increase my grow space and put the Mexican through some serious LST/SCROG/SOG, whatever. Jessy, your grow turned out beautiful! Great yeilds. Tomorrow my 150watt HPS light will be here, and I will switch to that after the AI and AK get to a reasonable size. I have roughly 39 inches of height, so hopefully the HPS isn't too much for my tiny cab. As long as it doesn't put off much more heat than 6 26watt 6500k CFL bulbs hahah

Well since then, it's tripled in size. A sick plant doesn't triple in size does it? I've also got two seedlings in the same grow box with the same 6x26watt 6500k daylight CFL bulbs. If my plant is sick, I don't want my hard work going to waste. Please help me out here instead of just posting "dude your plant looks sick lol". Here are some UPDATED pictures of my plants for further review.

Aurora Indica Seedling

Do you really think it's sick and why? Kinda the point of people posting grow journals. I know I'm a new member, but I've been creeping the boards for over a year, and it pisses me off every time I see someone point something along the lines of the above poster simply putting "it looks sick" "it looks sick because...", if you care enough to criticize, then you care enough to be helpful. /end rant

this is the VERY skinny first set of leaves on my AK plant. Showing Sativa qualities I suppose? It looks yellow from the angle, but it isn't. It's a very green little seedling. All these pictures were taken with an Iphone4 in a very bright box.

EDIT: take into consideration that the Mexican plant has been topped 2 times and is recovering fine.

I put them into flower yesterday 8am-8pm. The monster plant took well to some lower trimming, and the smaller ones are still growing well. The smallest is kinda stunted, most likely due to me bending the stem around and messing with it to bulk it up. I'm extremely surprised at how much deeper the green is on the big plant. It's a very deeep forest green. Here's some crappy hps lighting pics:

Well, I think I killed the cute little AK plant. I wanted to see how deep the roots started in the pot, because I had a gut feeling it was too close to the bottom. Well, I start slowly sweeping away dirt and get about 1/2in from the bottom of the pot before I found root. So I think to myself "Shit, we have a problem here..... think. think."...........DING! "Dude, you have some awesome soil with neutral PH and shite!!!!" *runs outside with pale* So I get the soil inside and basically try so scoot my hand beneath the bottom layer of the pot (probably had some serious root structure there. duh), and add my new soil and everyone will be happy forever and ever. WRONG! Plant immediately starts wilting! OH NOES!! Leaves curling up... eeek!! So now I douse it with water and hope that the plant perks up when the soil drys? I braced the little turd up, so hopefully she wont be lost. :(

Here is what the poor girl looked like after I tried replanting her:

and before I closed up the box for 12/12, I cleaned up my grow space and AK perked back up! YAY!

I'm so glad to see the AK perked back up...that was one sad looking little pot plant in the first pic.

And congrats on the big Mexican! Yay!

would it be a death sentence to my plants to try and stuff a 150w hps fixture in there with the given dimensions?
Based on the fact that you can't control the temps of cfls, I would think any type of HID lighting would be a death sentence.

Honestly, the temps haven't gotten above 77 at the canopy since the HPS was installed. The CFLs were much more hot because they were in a much smaller space, wrapped in aluminum foil. I swapped the foil for white poster board. I think the foil may have been insulating the space to an extent. My Aurora Indica is growing very fast and so is the big Mexican lady, so I don't think my 88-90 degree spikes in temperature are producing a heavy negative effect. I've gathered a lot of mixed info on temps. I've read in many places that cannabis can withstand temps up to 104 degrees.... I mean, they grow the shit in mexico? I know that it is not IDEAL, but like I said, it's only spikes, so not many worries there. So please don't think I'm shooting down your constructive criticism, because I really do appreciate it. I'm just confused as to what the real number is. I mean, I didn't just decide to start growing one day, I read a lot before I spent hundreds of dollars on seeds, lights, soil, high end nutes, etc.. so I definitely appreciate any input.

The AK started acting funny again, so I moved it into a single CFL computer case that has a more consistent environment. I don't think it's going to make it. No biggie if it doesn't, but still makes me sad. I feel like I could have saved it but didn't know how. :/

I don't know. I may just shut this thread down out of paranoia.

I created my own DWC bubbleponics system with an airpump and bubblerocks or whatever the hell those things are. I made a 1/4 nute mix with some NoShock additives and transplanted my Aurora indica VERY GENTLY from dirt to Hydro. We will see if she lives! I hope so. Luckily this is mostly experimentation, so woop-dee-doo. I'm afraid I'm limited to one DWC after the mexican blooms. Oh well. Harvests will be more yummy and plentiful if done correctly, I suppose. :)

PH is chilling at around 5.5

Today the Aurora Indica looks AMAZING! It already adjusted to the dwc/bubbleponics system with the help of NoShock and this stuff called sensizym: Rootzone Rejuvenator. I added 1/4 Connoisseur Part A 4-0-4, and a 1/4 strength "Flora Nova 4-8-7 bloom food". I will keep the NoShock in the DWC as well as squirt bottle as well as the Sensizym until the week before harvest. Mid-ways through the flowering period I will remove Part A and replace with part B. I will replace the Flora Nova with "Cha Ching" 9-50-10 after week 4 of flower.

Here is a picture of the steady temperatures now:

I moved the AK to 24/7 6500k seedling lighting. I've been treating it with NoShock and Sensisym Rootzone Stablizer:

Last night I did some trimming up and set up my SOG chicken wire. I plan to only have one plant at at time in the future, utilizing the DWC, hopefully turning out some decent yields. :)
