First grow (CFL) HELP PLEASE!

Hi I'm helping a friend with his first grow and we barely know anything about growing. So far we did a little research and I made him a grow box. I got a box from our printer paper. It's about 1x1x2. I know it's small but We're not trying to grow big plants for the first grow. I only want them between 15-20 inches and thick buds. But I put aluminum foil around the box with a small fan attached to it. Wehave 3 23w cfl(white) & 1 18w (blue). We want to grow at least 3 small plants. We are not expecting any thing big but at least 1oz or more . So far it's been 8 days since I planted the seeds and they're growing and looking good. They're about 1 inch tall.Can someone please tell me if we doing good and/or what else We need to do to keep them healthy, short and thick?

One square foot can give you decent room to work with, but you'll have to train your plants to stay low, and you'll have to watch the outward growth also with 1' of space to work with. But it's definitely doable and not hard at all!

The problem might be cardboard, if that's what you're using. ESPECIALLY if you're using foil. That could be a recipe for a huge fire or shock risk. If you want, you can check out my growbox in my journal. For about $20-$30 you can be growing a nice-sized plant and get at least an ounce harvest, and it's a simple to make setup that is safe and effective.

But let's see those pics first so we can see what you guys have going!

Not to spoil you growing hopes but you need a box much larger than that. If you were able to set plants and 4 cfl inside that box in the end you wont get an oz of yield.

I'm on the site from a mobile device, I'll be around a computer this weekend. I'll post pics then And would it be better if I remove 1 or 2 plants to get more yield ?

ditch the foil and at least put some white paper and tape it up there. foil is shit! and your gonna have to get something bigger as they grow. topping and lst works for small space. read, alot, is the first step

What is topping and if I place them in a bigger place would I beable to grow all 3 of them and get 1oz or more ?

before you keep asking the most basic of questions try looking around a bit. you will find answers to most of your questions without asking them.

simple answer: yes. if you are looking for a easy starter box that is a lot bigger look into the rubbermaid tote grows people are doing in the stealth section.
