The more space there is for roots to grow, the bigger the plant, the bigger the yield....
I would go with the 3gallon bucket...

Before when you asked about coco-perlite ratio.. I just realized i wasn't thinking in terms of a hempy bucket.....
In hempy bucket's... 100% Perlite is ideal... If ur going to use coco, Fill the bottom of the bucket where the"Res" is with Perlite.. Then continue with your Coco:Perlite mix.. I think a 50:50 mix would be fine.... Maybe even 75:25 perlite:coco...

Ya that's what I origanly was thinking 75 perlite to 25 coco with only perlite in the bottom. I wasnt sure about the size cuz I know you don't wanna transpalnt autos. Does it take long for the roots of an auto to hit the res in a hempy of 3gals?

Just water it every day for the first week, then wait and if the bucket starts to get lighter... The roots have hit the res....
You can add rooting hormone to encourage faster root growth if you want... Like rootbastic, roots excelerator, dynapro kln, hormex, clonex liquid solution, etc...LoL But it's not needed, in something like the hempy, im sure they'll grow pretty fast...

I would however suggest you add mycorrhizae, and other fungi/bacteria.... There's no need to buy expensive name brand stuff...
http://stores.ebay.com/The-Organic-Store/Mycorrhizae-/_i.html?_fsub=1175380013&_sid=23660683&_trksid=p4634.c0.m322

You can get a Hydro Myco/fungi mix comparable to name brands for cheap....
He also has mix's that are the exact same as the ingredients in Great White Powder... But the auctions have ended cause i dont see them, they'll def. be re-listed though....

Think of it this way, the more roots that have breached the rockwool... That's more stress being caused to a young seedling... Those roots wanna be in medium away from the light... And when ur transplanting them its un-needed stress...
Transplant before the roots breach, and they'll just take off down the perlite highway....

I love hempy! As jkahn said when u transplant water lightly everyday, then when your roots hit the res you can judge by the weight of the bucket. When you fill the bucket get a feel for the full weight and youll be able to tell right away when you need to water. I transplanted clones about 5" tall and it took a little less than a week to hit the res. Im 28 days into flower now and I water every 2 days it seems. Nice start and good luck! subbed and +rep :bigjoint:

Right on, thank you. Ill be putting her in her final pot in the morning then! What is the myco fungi mix for?
There beneficial bacteria...They colonize the root zone and promote secondary root growth, which help in the uptake of nutrients & h20... They help to fight off diseases... They keep the roots white, free of slime.. Allows you a little leeway with res temps... Not just secondary root systems, but overall healthier roots.. And a healthier plant that can then in turn fight off diseases/pests better...

Dude, If I were you, I would trash that Humboldt County stuff...

https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/459639-warning-carcinogens-found-humboldt-countys.html

Alot of debating going on about it, But I'd rather be safe that sorry lol..:) GL with the grow, ill follow:)
That's all bullshit....
States like Cali, and Oregon, etc.. Wouldn't allow any of their products to be on the shelves if there was anything remotely harmful in it.. Let alone anything Carcinogenic...
And the two products that got pulled were because The state wanted them to list A certain chemical on the label, and its corresponding effects... When the effects are MJ specific, The company had to back down and pull the products...
You can do just about anything on a bottle of fertilizer, except market it directly to cannabis growers....<-- That would be illegal...

*I can understand wanting to be better safe than sorry tho..
Ive never used them personally, and probably never will....

Ya I think the same way on the matter. Yes I don't know about them but I figured if their being produced in Cali. by people makng it for what were doing then it can't be too bad for my plants. Dude at m local hydro shop is very cool. We talked for a long timee and he told me usaully its another company starting the rumors. Its all for their own personal gain. Buisness can be dirty when there's millions of dollars to be had!

Ok so Temps are staying between 70-77 degrees. I decided to givethem 24 hrs of light for 2 weeks. I talked to someone who's grown this strain before and they said they did 24 all the way trough with CFL's and they did great. Also said she's a durable strain and above average yielder. After 2 weeks though she'll go on a 20/4 light cycle. She's being watered with PH'd distilled water and dome misted with same water. She'll be going into her final home tomorrow. Going with a 75% perlite & 25% coco mix.

I can't find anything that says Autos need 12/12 when flowering. Everything says to just keep it the same. Some say 18/6 and others 20/4. Have you grown your autos under 12/12 during flower jkahndb0? I read 12/12 for autos will have a lower yield then say using a 18/6 light cycle. Just trying to figure stuff out. Thanx again!

Here's some pics of her from like 20 mins ago. She's getting here second set of leaves now!! Growing very she is! The Force is strong with this one!

Stay safe & as always stay frosty! McDoobs......out!

Like i said before, it depends on the genetics...
Solid breeders make solid autoflowers and you can run 24 hours light cycles the whole time... (<--not recommended)
I do mostly regular plants, but ill throw an occasional auto in there... So i just do 12/12....(once auto'd)
G13 isnt the best breeder in the world, so i would run it at 18/6.. And if it hasn't autoflowered within 30 days switch it to 12/12....
Nothing is gained from 24/0, Plants need dark time... Maybe switch it to 24/0 for 1 week.. Then 20/4 1 week, then onto 18/6....
