Yea I think your right on husalife! Hopefully it still turns out to be a good strain for us, then maybe we will forget about the autoflower problem after we smoke a few lol..

It is wierd isn't it!!??

I don't think every autofower strain is unstable like the short riders but I must say, I did have a bad experience the first time around going with auto's! I wouldn't go as far as saying Nirvana's auto's are garbage but I would say that SR is NOT a stable auto!

Hopefully I'll at least be able to say its decent bud..

Thanks a lot man, yea I cant wait either but I keep telling myself to be patient lol.. Considering I thought they were going to show 4 weeks ago I'm starting to get a little more patient:)
the short whore as shown to be unstable..think about it..it came from 2 strains that got discontinued..if the strains they come from sucked...should have been a warning.but as it comes to autoflowering...diesel ryder def does what it says.they say it flowers in 3-4 weeks..took 2 for mine.i also just ordered 2 new autoflowers from dinafem...haze and roadrunner...ill let yall know how those go.

Guys guys guys....All plants can be a bit out of the description and that is natural. Not all trees are the same! Not all people are the same!I ve plant 2 SR's in my "grow carreer" :-P and have treated 4 more. All of them were different...one went tall, the other went short, some other died...!You cant expect from a lliving plant to do exactly as the description says...it depends on the enviroment conditions....the grow area, the lights, the air circulation, the soil, the nuts....there are many many variables that can affect the plant.
Another thing is the fact that autoflowers are generally a new strain, which is still under development. Some years ago, everyone was cursing the autos, cause they had no potency, and were extremely unstable!Today, autoflower is a favorite strain to stealth growers and not only to them.So its normal to be a little unstable or off the description.Personally i picked autos for the first grow cause they are easy to grow.At the 2nd grow,i picked autos again cause they can stand pitfalls and temperature is one of them which i cant ignore in the middle of the summer!
So,autos have many usefull characteristics that cant be ignored! Its a fine little plant that can teach you a lot.I m sure that we are about to see MANY remarkable autos in the future!

Honestly as long as one of these 6 tall riders produce 2 females I'll be satisfied! :)

You are right about the auto's Marlo but DJ has a point. If your looking for auto's unfortunatley there's no way I would recommend this strain..

Im just about to start a short rider stealth grow aswell.. as soon as my seeds arrive haha.. Ive read most of your thread but was wondering in general whats the main problems you had with short rider? Apart from it becoming a tall rider haha And did you give it plant feed or nutes the whole way through, or at certain times?

Also whats the smell like? Cause i want to grow indoors and was wondering how noticable the smell gets? Im sure it gets worse when flowering.. but wasnt sure if I need an air scrubber or whatever :) ..

I agree!I wouldnt recommend SR either, because there are many other interesting strains.Especially the last 4 months,i ve seen many new auto arrivals from many different breeders! They are becoming popular and they will be in advanced level in a while!SR is just ok for a starter. It doesnt need any special care, and survives under bad conditions such as high temps or dry periods!Anyway,i think its just a "value for money" seed! But if someone wants to grow something different with more expectations, then SR is not the right seed!

I fed my plant with BioBizz Nutes(FishMix,Bloom) every other watering and i noticed that i could give them more food, which i did this time with the new autos!I stopped the nutes 10 days before harvest so to prevent the bad taste on smoke!Generally i had no problems...all grow went smooth!
The smell is pretty strong even with one plant! In the 2nd or 3rd week of flowering, the odor will be all over the place! So you have to get a carbon filter and forget about the odors!

Thanks for your response Marlo! And that really sucks about the smell haha I will look into carbon filters :P

Its funny how you would assume watering would be the "easy" part. Once you get a good idea of when the plants need water it is but now I understand why "they say" that one of the most common mistakes is overwatering.

I'm glad we both got it down now :)

Thanks a lot chain, not only is that a great compliment but you are the one who suggested to check my ph. Which fixed the couple problems I was having!!

I'm with you on the dealers, I really hope my "buying" days are coming close to and end :) Perpetual FTW!!
Ya my friend has been trying to over water our plants. It's a constant battle trying to get him to let the bucket dry out first before watering again. I'm watering about twice a week, once with nutes once without.

& I really have no intentions of ever paying for herbs again after this grow is done. Around here it's either stepped on brownish green mexican garbage for $100 oz or commercially SOG'd nyc diesel for $375. My friend out in Denver says it's $250/oz right now for Blue Dream, Bubblicious & strawberry cough. Prices are coming way down in legal states.

I will say that my short riders did take to the few harsh conditions I had in the very begining. It was mostly high temps for me too but it didn't really seem to bother them. I've heard really good things about the bud you get off SR so don't feel to discouraged :) Actaully Marlo has a good little smoke report if you want to check that out when you get a chance..

As you know mine havent went into flowering yet, there is a little bit of a funky smell to the plants but its not very potent yet.. I've heard mixed reviews on the smell but I don't doubt that you will most likely need some type of odor eliminator, specially if this is a stealth grow for you.!

Another thing that I would recommend if you don't have much room is to lst that bitch right around the 2-3 week mark, to help keep in short and bushy. I would also switch the lighting to 12/12 way earlier if I had to do it again!

I agree, so many new auto's out there that look dank! If you did happen to grab short riders, just plan on them not autoflowering. Thats about the only negative thing I can say about them so other then the unstable auto gene, everything else seems to be good from a first growers point of view:)

I fed mine very lightly in the begining and I probably didn't even need to with the FFOF soil. IF you plan on flowering within 2-4 weeks I wouldn't recommend any veg nutes if your soil is rich, "like the FFOF." Out of the FF brands I would just grab some big bloom and tiger bloom and maybe some unsulphured molasses from the grocery store and that should do the trick!

Like I said I havent really noticed a really strong smell yet but I can tell if one does bud it will probably get a lot skunkier! Another member said the ONA gel worked really good for him with this strain so I'll probably give that a try.

Damn overwatering lol...

Thats about what the "good stuff" goes for around here. Shit possibly even more! 250 would be a huge discount :)

well the haze is a Ruderalis 25% Indica 55% Sativa 20% combo...so i hope it takes the indica side of it.but with it having ruderalis traits it remains pretty short and stocky.i think im going to scrog the bubblelicious after the haze and diesel ryder finish up.have about another 7-8 weeks on the diesel and its only a 60 from seed to harvest on the haze

im also growing blue mystics, and 8 0f the ten sr's survived the heat. just let em go a few more weeks
Thanks for the tip chabib, I was leaning toward leaving them on 12/12 because they didn't autoflower. +Rep for the help!

I'm getting ready to put up some pictures 8 weeks for the indoor TR babies. I think those that where saying "thirsty" the biggest was looking male might be right, I'll throw up some preflowers when I get a chance but I still really cant tell for sure.

Here's some pics to keep this thing updated, I looked at them for the first time today and I noticed what looked to be balls on "thirsty, the bigger of the two" and now there showing even more. I'm about 99 percent sure its a male but of course I'm hoping I'm wrong.:-| Droopy I still really cant tell but I'm really hoping I didn't go through 8 weeks of veg to have 2 males. Time will tell, thirsty is on the left and the preflowers are all of thirsty. Thanks for any comments!

All the Fem Short Riders I have planted have done wonderful so far. Only having trouble out of my non fem reg short riders.

My fem Short riders grew a little over a foot tall and had nice thick dense buds that ended up about 22grams or so.

dam treeZ 2 males would really suck, its does look like balls in a couple of the pics. that is a long time to grow to end up with 2 males, lets hope not. the plants do look good tho.

Yea I'm hoping thats not the case CD, thanks for replying. I'm gonna give it a few more days then I'll probably chop if I decide against pollinating. "On a good note, this would be a really healthy male to get pollen from!" I'll give it some time and keep you guys posted.

Thats another thing I was thinking. A lot of people who grew the Fem short riders didn't have a problem, it seems like. so maybe thats the way to go? If both these turn out male Nirvana will be hearing from me wether they choose to do anything about it or not.
